Week 7: Rams @Falcons

Sunday, October 20th at 10am PST on Fox

So, Week 7 and three consecutive losses with a questionable O-line among many other questions still remaining this far into the season. But the Rams are not taking it quietly and still have time to change this around if they can get back to some wins.

After the trades and injuries from the last week, significantly different team will be on the field in Atlanta, who are themselves facing their own questions with only 1 win.

Rams need to take this one and get things back on track. Go Rams!

Rams 3-3, third in the NFC West
Falcons 1-5, last in the NFC South

QFTOS: RED BIRDS Pre Game Edition:

The Falcons should be considered massive underdogs. They have now dropped four straight games that looked winnable on paper, with the ugliest coming against the Texans and Titans, and they’re now playing their best opponent on paper since Week 2. The Rams have all the ingredients for a dominant passing attack, and the Falcons have made the likes of recently-benched Marcus Mariota look good through the air. The Rams have the best rushing attack the Falcons have seen in a while. The Rams have the best defense the Falcons have seen in a while. And so on.

It pains me to say it, but barring the Rams absolutely melting down—and to be clear, it would not be the first time they’ve done that in 2019—I just don’t see how Atlanta walks out of this one with a win. Being at home hasn’t been a huge advantage for them thus far, the defense hasn’t come together even against cupcake opponents, and the organization is generally in disarray. We know the Falcons can beat the Rams at their absolute best, but we have yet to see Atlanta come close to playing that well. The best hope is that they finally get some turnovers and the offense keeps clicking, but that does seem like a dim hope.

The Rams are currently favored by 3 points, according to Draftkings Sportsbook. I’ll be frank, I’m shocked the Rams are only favored by 3 points, even if they’re on a 3-game losing streak. Given how the Falcons have played over the last month, I’d expect them to be bigger underdogs. 68 percent of bettors are taking the Rams, for what that’s worth.

The Rams opened as 4 point underdogs with some online sportsbooks, so the line has shrunk a bit since it opened. The over/under is sitting at 54.5, with 68 percent of bettors taking the over.

Looking back, the Falcons are 1-6 against the spread over their last 7 games (1-5 against the spread this season). The Rams are 5-0 against the spread over their last 5 road games.

Falcons are terrible. Another sorry season. These guys remind me of going to the circus and seeing the dwarfs get out of the vw. Except it's not funny.

Consider the skid stopped. 1) The Tom Slick vacation is over. 2) Team and coaches reinvigorated by the trades.
