1. They are struggling, and those struggles are the primary reason for the sluggish offense.
2. There is no in-season fix via FA or trade. There simply are no interior OL on the market who can be brought in as an immediate upgrade.
3. The OL CAN improve as the season wears on. More experience for the young players and the unit as a whole could translate to better play in November and beyond.
4. Austin Blythe is better than Jamil Demby.
5. Even if our current rookie OL develop, OL will likely be a personnel priority next offseason.

McVay is a fantastic HC, but he can improve when it comes to countering schemes on the fly. When he does (and I believe he will), look out!

He adjusted a bit switching to inside zone. I would like to see some power G and some trapping if we have the OGs to do it. I think Boom can. Not so sure in Blythe/Denby. We def need to develop and acquire more o line talent.

Rams offense is limited by how good the OL is, and right now its not very. If Demby is the best OL off the bench, Rams will be lucky to make the playoffs. I hope makes it back into the line soon.

I agree.
Feel like McVay feels he needs to trick or surprise instead of just going straight ahead with what’s working.

Exactly,,,

Look what the Browns did with their makeup OL,,,,

They did quick passes,, Slants,,,

But McVay is stuck on getting the ball down field.....

He needs to realize, to make that happen, we have to use the underneath stuff,,, and draw them in,,, then go deep... or mix it up...

Got some splainin to do.

Those WR screens, my lord! Works one in twenty plays, yet it is a staple.

Look, I get that the Rams won, but on paper it should have been domination.

It was far from that.

Should I be concerned when the obligatory McVay “ I need to coach better” presser is held, and for the first time I actually believe it?

Teams try to neutralize one of our perceived team strengths, the pass rush. Mayfield was quick footed and decisive. Got the ball out quickly. "Over 2.5 seconds and there's nothing" Michaels said on a couple occasions. BM's accuracy was a different story.
McV's plays take a little time to develop. Similar to MM's plays. Both needed outstanding line-play to succeed. Right now our o-line isn't outstanding.

But heck yeah, lets run another 1/2 dozen WR screens. :roll2:
