LOUIS • Gov. Jay Nixon and his stadium task force received a letter from the National Football League on Friday, spelling out deadlines and expectations for hometown stadium proposals.Similar letters went to efforts in Oakland and San Diego. They gave the teams until Dec. 30, two days longer than announced at the NFL owners meeting this week, to submit detailed outlines of material terms, sources and uses for project construction, and "identification of the authority necessary to secure public contributions."Nixon also sent a statement in response:“I appreciate the league for providing a clear timeline of its decision-making process. With action expected next week by the St. Louis Board of Aldermen following numerous public hearings, St. Louis is in a strong position to meet the December 30 deadline established by the NFL."This is especially important with the league formally accepting relocation applications as soon as January 4, and a decision on those applications anticipated at the special meeting scheduled for January 12 and 13."Our task force has presented a strong, fiscally-responsible proposal that will keep the Rams in St. Louis in a way that is consistent with our core principles of protecting taxpayers, creating jobs, and securing private investment to revitalize a distressed area.” RFU Season Ticket Holder by Hacksaw 9 years 7 months ago Total posts: 24523 Joined: Apr 15 2015 AT THE BEACH Moderator Re: NFL Requests "remaining risks" from Task Force POST #5 "Our task force has presented a strong, fiscally-responsible proposal that will keep the Rams in St. Louis in a way that is consistent with our core principles of protecting taxpayers, creating jobs, and securing private investment to revitalize a distressed area.” NixonWhat did I miss? How are they protecting taxpayers? Now they get 2 extra days. What happened to the 12/28 deadline? It sure as heck seems as if the NFL is giving StLoo more than every chance to get it done. How many times will the Loo drop the ball but the league just hands it back to them. If I was paranoid I'd think the league prefers the Rams stay in StL to make StL and Dean happy. I may need to step out of this until it's over. GO RAMS !!! GO DODGERS !!!
