PARAM wrote:And when this lawsuit is over Los Angeles should sue St. Louis like that guy is suing Fletcher Cox for ruining his marriage. After all they lured the Rams to the Midwest. Promised things they obviously couldn't deliver. Then didn't offer the Rams an upgrade until long after the move was evident.

If the NFL is held accountable for "conspiring to swindle the St. Louis area", then those in charge of the deal the Rams received in 1995 are equally guilty.

This thing really is a huge butt rub joke. The area supported the Rams with their hearts but not with their asses in the seats. Sure there were the loyal, die hard fans who did but unless they spread the money of any court settlement among those 20,000 or so, then there's another swindle going on.

they also didn't live up to the agreement they signed. This is so lame. Was this article written by Bob "I'm going to sponge as much money from StL as I can" Blitz..?

What's funny is that some of the $18 million or so St. Louis spent in the fools folly to try and keep the Rams was money spent by Bob Blitz's law firm. Now they're suing even though they got paid? Talk about double dipping.

When the revolution comes, the lawyers should be the first ones up against the wall.

Hmmmmm........lawyers can't do anything without greedy clients who want to litigate. Haven't seen a lawyer start a lawsuit yet with no client.

We stupidly threw about $20 million into the trash trying to keep the Rams when there was no way the team was staying here. We stupidly let Stan have a deal to buy Rams Park for $1. But vanity and pride have a cost and what we did should be a lesson to every other NFL city.

Lol, I was talking about the rich and powerful, and the lawyers.
No one gives a damn what silly working class sports fan thinks he lost.
A team moves there for a lousy 17 years and people complain like they were supposed to stay? Teams move..it's a business..its inevitable..it's not a problem or mistake

The problem is the Rams told St. Louis they had a chance to keep the team. They even went so far as to demand design changes to the north riverfront stadium they knew was never going to be built.

St. Louis deserved to lose the Rams for many reasons. But that still doesn't justify the team lying.

They wanted to leave. I think that's a given. Being able to was not so certain. they had to play both sides of the fence in case they were forced to stay.

Can't forget there were influences out there (Richardson, McNair and others) who were working behind the scenes to stop the move,,, so there was nothing certain besides their desire.

Those 'STL isn't a sports town' 'scorched earth' comments were a leverage play and was clearly a shot at Peacock-Blitz-task force and the CVC for dicking around until the last minute trying to stop them.

No one knows what the Rams truly felt up until then or when they changed their direction.

That's what is so lame about this suit. StL sports authority screwed up, then tried to throw a wrench into the teams plans to leave because of it after it was already too late and now wants to be reimbursed for an expense that never needed to happen in the first place.

We are fully aware of our crimes. No city would ever be as stupid as St. Louis. Tell me something I don’t know.

Just responding to this quote so you might get perspective.
