I was told from the start that the Maryland Heights purchase was strictly another land deal, that it had nothing to do with a stadium.

If the team continues to lose, and it's difficult right now to see them winning more than another game or two max _ I think it might be difficult for FIsher to survive under normal circumstances. For the sake of argument, let's just say the team goes 1-4 down the stretch to finish 5-11. That would mean four consecutive losing seasons, a worse record in each of Fisher's four seasons with the team (from 7-8-1, to 7-9, to 6-10, to 5-11), and nine losses in the final 10 games of 2015. How could you possibly justify keeping the coach under those circumstances? But this obviously isn't a normal situation. Does Kroenke really want Fisher to guide the team through the transition of a possible move? Would Kroenke want to avoid having to eat $7 million for the final year of Fisher's contract? Those are the two big questions and only Kroenke knows the answer. .

Maybe Kroenke like to be in the notoriety. His name has been mentioned, talked about or typed an awful lot this last year.

OK back to your regularly scheduled thread ..

One thing I feel certain about, Kroenke isn't going to let the $7M remaining on Fishers contract influence his decision on who he wants to coach his team in LA next year.

"Would Kroenke want to avoid having to eat $7 million for the final year of Fisher's contract?"

This drive me crazy.
Fisher will not coach next year on the last year of the deal. It just doesnt happen unless Fisher were to turn down an extension a la Chuck Pagano.
And he wont coach for LESS than his current salary, probably gets a slight bump. So in cost terms, its probably cheaper to fire him this year

Have to figure he needs to win at least 3 more games to have a shot

Stan blew it with Fisher. No more 5 year contracts from here I would think. There will be a lot of hoopla when the team returns to LA next season. I still think he stays with Fisher for year 5. I know little of Stan as an owner, thought when he initially volunteered the RAMS to play three straight years in London, burning our home games in the process, I questioned his priorities of winning.

Well, if he wants to sell corp suites in his new LA stadium he's going to have to produce an on-field product that generates tangible excitement. So, I don't see how he stays with Fisher knowing that he can't generate the needed excitement for his target market.

I think, as an owner, Kroenke is a set it and forget it guy. He wants to hire somebody good and let them do their thing, hopefully for a long time.

I also think at the time Fisher was hired, relocation was already the main thing. So having a steady, respectable football operation that SK didn't have to put much thought into was very appealing.

It's starting to look like Fisher has failed to meet even that bar...

telling people to "kiss my [behind]" is not the way to run a professional organization, football or otherwise. I betcha that got ESK's attention.

One problem with keeping Fisher for a 5th year is the likelihood that he doesn't do any better. Is Kroenke going to fire Fisher after 1 year in LA? That's not a good look. Plus, Fisher will want an extension to go to LA. No one gets fired the same year they get an extension.
