Chris Simms? I'd rather hear the opinion of Troy Aikman, Steve Young, Tony Romo, or even Major Applewhite. #19 for Goff is too low! #HookEm #SoCalTexan

yeah, simms is an idiot, never saw anyone as thrilled as simms when he first got wind of the mcvay/goff pre-snap radio communications, it was truly an "aha!" moment for the nfl bust, he seemed to think it vindicated the woody he's always had for goff... of course at first simms seemed very confused about the nfl rules regarding radio usage, and the cutoff time prior to the snap, which seemed to put a bit of a damper on his glee once the rules were explained to him... anyway, did i mention that simms is an idiot? btw, fwiw, simms came out with this "19th" stuff quite a while ago, a month or two ago, the lazy sos is just re-blabbing his stuff.

Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.

However, when an opinion is inconsistent with objective facts, one must wonder if its more of an example of bias than honest opinion.

Goff's ranking last year statistically:

Yards: 4
Yards/attempt: 4
Yards/completion: 3
TDs: 6(tie)
TD%: 10
Passer rating: 8
Game winning drives: 4(tie)

There is no objective basis to conclude that these are the stats of the 19th best QB in the NFL.

Simms is an ass-clown.

Maybe Simms thinks that Goff is only as good as the"system" he plays in. But he is wrong. The system is only as good as Goff's ability to throw down field

The answer is so simple: It's both. Goff and the system are good...

simms is just another one of the dickheads who missed badly on goff, in simms's case it dates back to the 2016 draft, one of the dickheads who will continue to slight goff at every turn in a very weak effort to prove he wasn't wrong.

in the meantime, back at the ranch, all goff has done is win, received pro bowl nods and, oh yeah, led his team to the super bowl... simms was a failure as an nfl qb, and he's proven to be a failure at armchair gm-ing, even when it comes to his own position, ha ha.

The CBS announcer has been keeping his eye on this year's crop of quarterbacks and like most people, he's a big fan of Carson Wentz. However, unlike most people, Simms doesn't see Jared Goff as the second-best quarterback in the draft.

During a recent interview CBS Sports Network's Time to Schein, Simms revealed the three quarterbacks at the top of his draft board.

"If I had to rank them, just where I see them down the road in the NFL, it would be Wentz, Paxton Lynch, Jared Goff," Simms told host Adam Schein.

As far as putting Lynch ahead of Goff, Simms explained that in a separate interview.

"I think he's extremely talented," Simms told Colin Cowherd. "I think he has borderline-superstar qualities. His arm -- it's a good motion. One thing I always say about quarterbacks, if you've got a good motion, you can see they’re natural throwers, they can get better in the NFL. In other words, he can improve his quality of throwing. I've seen it with many, many guys. Ben Roethlisberger, I saw it with Aaron Rodgers, I see it with Tony Romo. Tom Brady this past year maybe threw the football better than he's ever thrown it in his career physically."

Lynch actually seems to be one of the biggest mysteries in the draft.

If that's the justification, does that mean that Simms thinks that every other team just lines up saying "okay... you guys block, everyone else try to get open. On one... break!"?
