yeah, not sure i get the #5 annoyance, i mean the bolts sported royal blue from 1974-1980... that said, the major differences seem to be going back to numbers on their helmets, going back to yellow pants, ditching navy from their base uniforms, and improving the pant bolt/stripe - also, #5 & #6 are pretty much the same color rush uniforms they had last year.

Think the number of their helmets take away from the look

Yeah, that's exactly how I felt about it. They already had the colors and the uni's (even the blue helmet) were similar to our Rams. I actually like them because of that! lol

Not a fan of the number either but I think it's a "history" thing for them and by doing that they are trying to reconnect with some of the older San Diego area fans IMO. Smart strategy.

but it's a retro look that many bolts fans have always loved, something the bolts sported during their inaugural season and then for the next 12 years... but this time around they gave the helmet numbers a twist - instead of the original navy helmet numbers that clashed with the powder blue jerseys, they've made the helmet numbers powder blue too.

I know I am in the vast minority but I’ve never understood the fascination/love of the powder blue. I mean football is supposed to be tough and I don’t know why having a baby color is something that so many people appreciate. I’m a UCLA guy but have never been a fan of the baby blue uniforms.

I think the Chargers totally rocked it. That is some good unis. Browns did well, too.

RAMS? You are on the clock...

ha ha, you and dan reeves are of like mind - from an interview i did with todd hewitt many years ago (for uni watch and helmet hut):

-----------------

ME: Speaking of the Rams’ color schemes, why did the Rams change from blue and yellow to blue and white in 1964, which they wore for nine years, until 1972?

TODD: Kind of a funny story. Before the change, what the Rams often wore , which as it turned out didn’t look particularly good on black-and-white TV — a consideration that became increasingly important at the time. So the Rams experimented with different shades of yellow until they found one that actually showed up well on TV. The problem was the shade of the yellow that worked well for TV was called “buttercup yellow.” When Mr. Reeves [Dan Reeves, Rams owner from 1941-1971] found out about that, he said that there was no way his team would ever wear a color called “buttercup yellow.” Also, the yellow horns on the Rams’ helmet at the time didn’t show up very well on TV either. So Mr. Reeves decided to remove yellow from the uniforms altogether, opting for a simple blue and white, which as it turned out looked great on black and white TV.

I am from that blue and white era and those will always be my favorites. To me, the white horn on the helmet is unbeatable.

That said I think I would prefer the current helmet horn in pink over the new segmented version.

If they want to reconnect with their San Diego fans, they can just move back there and stop freeloading in our stadium
