Seems status quo to me:

Rams intend to unveil new unis with new stadium.

In the meantime they want to appease fans who hate the current uniforms, or at the very least give the impression they care and are working on it...

It's still not going to satisfy that weird group that would rather have the LA Rams wearing Ferragamos at 0-16 than winning the Super Bowl in shitty St. Louis colored uniforms.

I'm sorry, I don't understand this statement. The one time the Rams won the Super Bowl, they were wearing Ferragamo colors (while representing St. Louis). So what's the problem?

Although the narrative has become Ram fans wanting uniform changes SINCE the move to L.A., I distinctly remember even St. Louis fans wanting uniform changes for years before that. People were already tired of the current unis before the move, and you're trying to suggest that uniform changes are more important to fans than winning? I'm not seeing the connection.

Yep. This is the Rams passing the buck. They've been saying for years that they are addressing the uniform issue but their hands are tied because of NFL rules. But now they say they are working with Nike to "start" the process?!?

If I was Stan, I would just wait and change everything in 2020. Imo it makes more sense.

How awesome is it going to be when the Rams come out the tunnel in the new stadium with new uniforms. It’ll be worth the wait.

My knock on the St. Louis uniforms, designed by Georgia (you'd think a Las Vegas showgirl would know more about color schemes), was the colors appeared muted on TV. The horns didn't pop. The blue/whites pop.

The RAMS have only themselves to blame if they get blowback from the new uniforms. Given that they've changed the uniforms several times over the course of the last few decades, people have lined up behind their favorites. If the RAMS had just stayed the course from say, the 60s, until now then no one would have a clue about blue/yellows or blue/golds.

As for the NFL preventing any change in the uniforms for now....really?....We're suppose to believe the NFL would give a rip if the RAMS widened the horns on the helmet tomorrow?

Devil's advocate: Maybe the RAMS want cover in case the response to the new uniforms is less than spectacular. If the uniforms suck, people might say, "Geez, the uniforms are horrible, but the stadium is freaking awesome." Thereby, the uniform conversation will get mixed with the stadium conversation. Whereas, if they came out with new uniforms tomorrow, that would be the only topic of conversation.

I think you're misunderstanding me a bit.

The plan is, and always has been, to debut new uniforms with the new stadium. That's the process they're working on with Nike. That's always been true and has never changed though i suppose they could bump it up a year if they feel like they can't wait till 2020.

The problem, the mess, was what to do in the meantime, the Coliseum years. (Especially now there's 4 of them instead of 3.) I'm sure the Rams would've been happy Stay in the St. Louis uniforms until 2019/20 but too many of the L.A. fans weren't having it.

Well I've wanted a change in the uniform since 2001.

And agreed that the subtle changes shouldn't make that big a difference. Pulling the gold trim off the blueberries and replacing it with white doesn't seem like that big a rebranding deal. Widening the horns wouldn't either even though it'll probably never will happen.
