Condos and apartments was what I thought I'd heard.

snackdaddy wrote:Depends what part. Bay Area and Southern Cal the major highways could take quite a while. I vacationed in Disneyland once. Dodger Stadium was 30 miles from my hotel. It took 90 minutes to get there. I'm not used that traffic. I live in the central valley and I could go 50 miles in 40 minutes during rush hour on highway 99. If I'm going 70 I have to stay in the right lane because I'm slowing traffic down in the fast lane.
I'm not too far from you and I'm the same way. The difference between where I am, just an hour north of LA and actual LA traffic is almost night and day. I feel like such a yokel when I go down there.

Of course, Bakersfield is getting overpopulated now and traffic can be a real problem here in many areas.

Sadly, can't tell if those are EJD seats or Candlestick seats.

I'm sure many people have fond memories there. My first memory was when a group of us guys traveled there in a motorhome during the month of July back in the 80's for a Dodgers/Giants game.

When they stopped by my house to pick me up at 7 in the morning it was already in the mid 70's. Typical summer temps. I walked out in T-shirt and shorts. One of the guys said "Have you ever been to Candlestick?" I said no.

He told me to trust him and bring some sweatpants and a coat. I stepped out of the RV in the parking lot and went right back in to put on the warm clothes. It was freezing in the middle of July.

That was my first memory of Candlestick. 8-)

I think my earliest thought of Candlestick has to do with a Jodie Foster movie when she was a kid.

I member thinking it was so famous the first time I went there.

That's crazy. 50 miles would take Metlife Stadium (Giants stadium) thru New York and in to Danbury Connecticut or could make it all the way to the Delaware Water gap and reach Pennsylvania...

Dont you guys have awful traffic in Cali too? How long does it take to travel 50 miles?

At rush hour you need to have left the previous day.

Earlier in spring I drove the 300 miles from Laguna Beach to San Simeon one night to get breakfast. Took a little over 3 hours because it was the middle of the night.
I finished my meal and left San Simeon by 9:00am to get back into LA before 1:30 to 2:00pm "rush hour".
I successfully made the 245 miles trek back to the Santa Monica Fwy (10) on time. The bad news was the traffic was so bad (no accidents either) that I didn't get back home to Laguna (only 50 miles further) until just before 5:00 pm. :?

I just kept saying to myself, 'self where are all of theses people going?
