Nose tackle Mike Purcell, who recently re-signed as an exclusive-rights free agent, was among the 49ers’ cuts announced Tuesday as the team prepares for its class of undrafted rookies.

Purcell, former Stanford star Shayne Skov and former CFL standout Eric Rogers topped the list of 13 cuts the 49ers made to coincide with the additions of first-year players and veteran additions for the offensive line, Tim Barnes and Brandon Fusco.

Purcell started the first five games of the season a year ago before losing his starting job. The 49ers picked up veteran nose tackle Earl Mitchell in free agency and added Mississippi nose tackle D.J. Jones in the sixth round of the draft.
