you mean like when Isaac Bruce caught his 1,000th career reception in St. Louis, while wearing a 49er's uniform?

Yes, it really sucks.

The Rams have been too vocal on the fact that they don't want Kupp on the team anymore, no team is going to trade for him when they can grab him for peanuts after he's cut.

I can see a minor bidding war between 3 or 4 teams (I think he'd be invaluable on the Pats, Bears, or Jags), but even that won't drive up his next contract too high.

I hear you but why get in a bidding war with 3 other teams if you can get him all to yourself for not a lot in a trade?

He wants to go to a contender.

And ask the Rams to eat $5-10 mil of the current contract. That is what I predict.

Eat $5mil - 7th rd pick
Eat $7mil - 5th-6th
Eat $23 mil - 4th.

Eat nothing - released.

He can want that but, he doesn't add anything to a contender. If he did WE would keep him.

I think he's very valuable to an up and coming team to be a mentor to a young QB and WR room.

A contender might want him if he just sits out the year, doesn't risk injury, and re-voices his interest close to the deadline. But as is, it seems pretty clear most teams don't even consider him worth a 4th or 5th round pick, and by now the Rams can't possibly be asking for much in return.

Of course now that I've written this all down, he'll be signed for some ungodly amount in the next 3 minutes. :roll2: :lol2:

Because even with a bidding war, I don't see the cost getting very high (what would you pay for CK right now, at a max like....$7mil?), AND you get to keep your draft picks, and if the price gets too high you can just walk away, nothing gained, nothing lost.

Fair points.
