I was really surprised by how much Puka played. You don't really practice before a Thursday game, just walk throughs mostly but man was i wrong. And it was great. As much as i appreciate the guy, don't think i appreciated him enough. Having Kupp and Puka back makes DRob better too.My biggest concern going into the game was the Rams defense wouldn't be able to handle MN's offense and the first two drives sure seemed to be the case. But nope, defense did their job.My section is shitty, always mostly opposing fans so i don't know the percentage for the whole stadium, maybe 50/50 or majority Rams fans. When fans needed to get loud on a 3rd down, Rams fans were much louder than Vikings. That wasn't close so makes me think majority Rams. It's only one game and MN having to play on the road, Thursday, after Detroit, well that's a tough spot but man what a win by the Rams. And really, for the first time, they looked like a legitimate contender...Well said Elvis. I think we all didnt realize how much difference Puka and Kupp could make. Watching Puka on that screen...I was like holy chit I forgot how big he is and how he runs through tackles. Now all the WR's are in their natural spot they were playing in camp. Awesome to see D Rob get some space. Lets not forget about Tutu, he can be such a weapon. But also how much better the Rams are on the blocking surface with Puka and Kupp back. You could really see the difference between the Raiders and Vikings games. The performance against the Raiders didn't instill any confidence. When Minnesota went down and drove for an easy touchdown on the opening drive, and didn't even have a 3rd down to worry about, I thought "Here we go". But when they went down and tied the score at 14 I started to think maybe they hung in there and survived the initial onslaught Minny is known for. They said they outscored their opponents something like 58-3 in the first quarter through the first 6 games. After things settled down I thought maybe we did have a chance. Stafford was vintage Stafford. I think he's clearly the best quarterback in the NFC. He did have the one bad throw that resulted in an INT. It happens. Even to the best. Ok, so maybe I'm not ready to throw in the towel on the season. I guess that was premature. Having a division where the top team is only one game ahead helps. And now the schedule gets easier. They can certainly make a run. If they beat Seattle and Miami the next couple weeks they'll be 5-4 after 9 games. Last year they were 3-6. Things are certainly looking a lot more promising now. And more guys will be returning from IR the next few weeks. 2 by actionjack 8 months 6 days ago Total posts: 5178 Joined: May 19 2016 Sactown Hall of Fame Week 8: Vikings at Rams POST #93 One thing on the defense.Thank gawd Curl came back, that was scary. They simply got out played in all phases of the game. How many times have we seen Stafford clearly get roughed or his facemask held yet there was no call? What this game showed the rest of the NFL is that there is a beast developing in LA and it wears horns not bolts. Look at the rest of the schedule. Is there a single team that the Rams can't compete with? IMO the only way they lose games will be by their own mistakes, i.e. missed FGs, turnovers and stupid penalties. Young learned an important lesson on that play. He has a tendency as does Verse to play a bit out of control. He got a wake up call as to what potentially can happen when he plays that way. You could see the regret the minute the play ended. It's called growth. Having Witherspoon lock down that last CB position has made a huge difference. He has brought to the secondary the very thing the Rams hoped White would but didn't. In the secondary McCollough has surprised me. He's much like Lake was last year, though I felt Lake was an outstanding pick when he was drafted. Kinchen's needs a year of development, but as long as Curl and Lake are healthy he will have the time. OT, CB, ILB will be high on their draft priorities next year. But the jury is still out on Alaric Jackson with much being dependent upon his contract expectations. That said as this team gets healthy, they have few holes. A healthy Rams roster is a Lombardi contender that was on full display as they dismantled one of the NFC's contenders. The 49ers have taken the step back I expected and look vulnerable this year. The Rams are good enough to sweep Seattle. The Rams can finish with an 11-12 win season, with a 12 win season probably gets them the division crown. I want the Lions or Vikings to take their division because I do not want to play in GB snow. Bring them to LA to face a healthy Rams team and lets see if they can beat the Rams then. This season is shaping up to be another after the bye playoff run season. Do you know how many times Stafford has been roughed or had his facemask held and it was never called? Try several times a season, is what my answer to them was.The game was over when it happened in that even if called there was no way the Vikings score a TD and TWO POINT conversion with the time left. The Vikings were being dominated in the second half. They got down close twice in the second half and had to settle for FGs that is why they lost, not some missed call. Egregious as it might have been it wasn't the reason the Vikings lost. It was having to settle for 2 FGs in the second half that lost them the game. Their vaunted defense couldn't sack Stafford who had two rookies both UDFA starting at LG and center. Funny how the crybabies ignore that right? The 49ers are vulnerable, and if the Rams continue to get guys back and continue to play like they did on Thursday night they are going to be very tough to beat. Funny how the crybabies ignore that right? The 49ers are vulnerable, and if the Rams continue to get guys back and continue to play like they did on Thursday night they are going to be very tough to beat. I really like our chances this season. Win the next two, building off this game and I see the Rams taking the division. I really do see the Rams finishing with either 11 or 12 wins this year. by Elvis 8 months 5 days ago Total posts: 41498 Joined: Mar 28 2015 Los Angeles Administrator Week 8: Vikings at Rams POST #98 actionjack, RAMMAN76 liked this post There was this facemask they missed, 1st down from midfield with about 3:15 to go: RFU Season Ticket Holder 2 by actionjack 8 months 5 days ago Total posts: 5178 Joined: May 19 2016 Sactown Hall of Fame Week 8: Vikings at Rams POST #99 Elvis wrote:There was this facemask they missed, 1st down from midfield with about 3:15 to go:KyrenMask.jpgYep surprised that Kyren didnt ask for it as he did on the other one earlier in the game. All the Vikings fans wanted was a fair chance, and that's a fair ask.If it had happened to us, we'd be complaining, too.But even they can't feel too badly about it, because the Rams clearly deserved to win, and (almost certainly) would have even with the penalty. 1 by Dare 8 months 5 days ago Total posts: 780 Joined: Mar 09 2024 Tucson, AZ formerly of San Diego Veteran Week 8: Vikings at Rams POST #97 I know people that are hardcore Vikings fans. I finally had enough BS blaming the officials for the loss automatically assuming they could roll down the field and score a TD with two point conversion just to tie. What a bunch of crybabies.
