My lord. What a difference 11 months make.
I still think he McVay stays they err reloaded and ready to go! By my rough math we get 18 OL back from injury.

He needs to take a week off with his wife and come back fresh. Sure every coach feels similar after a losing season. This is a first for him.

But only if he came back to us. After Dick Vermeil I don't know.

Has any coach/manager in any major sport stepped away for a season just to "clear their head" and come back to the same team?

There have been some intimations he has stuff going on (like wife being Ukrainian with family in Ukraine) and maybe this is kind of a unique situation.

Something clearly is going on but some of the conclusions people are jumping to are pretty whack...

I thought our guys would give it one more shot with our main core guys.

I still think with our main guys we can make one more run.

Donald Kupp Stafford Ramsey

I thought that was the window. But with Mcvay walking away it seems like it’s closing. At least one more season.

So I hope he comes back. But not really for the back and forth.

Leading up to Sunday’s game against the Seahawks, speculation grew that it could be Sean McVay’s final game on the sideline for the Rams. Rumors have swirled about his potential retirement from coaching, especially with TV networks eyeing him for the second straight year.

After the loss to Seattle, McVay was understandably asked about his future and whether he’ll be the Rams’ head coach in 2023.

In fact, he was asked flatly: Will you be coaching the Rams next season. His response was telling of his uncertainty and the legitimacy of those reports suggesting he could step away.

“I’m not thinking about that right now. Nothing’s changed from kind of where we left things off on Friday,” he said.

“Which was what?” the reporter replied.

“That I’m right here, right now, and we’ll deal with that stuff at a later time,” McVay said.

There was another follow-up question asked about McVay’s future and what’s making him undecided about coaching the Rams into next season. This time, he straight-up declined to answer, not even dancing around a response.

“I’ll talk about stuff as it relates to the game,” he said. “Anything as it relates to what is gonna happen with me, like I said, I’m not thinking about that right now. I’m appreciative of the way these guys finished up the season and so any question of that nature, I’m not gonna answer.”

McVay was visibly frustrated, which is reasonable after losing his 12th game of what was a terrible season. He was relatively brief with his answers and seemed drained from the grind of the 17-game season.

He said there was never a point in the game when he thought it might be his last play or last game, but you have to wonder if it will end up being the final time he takes the field with the Rams
