Jackson is calling his own plays and has an entirely different philosophy
And it is common for new coach to come in and clean house.

I know, I'm just not enthusiastic about the Rams hiring another project(wish upon a star) OC.

I mean, couldn't we be making all the excuses for Cignetti that are being made for DeFilippo? Both were first year OC"s last year and both were bottom of the league in scoring. Neither of these guys showed that they were ready to be an OC. I mean, why couldn't we sit here and say that Cignetti is actually a budding star, just look at what the Rams were doing on offense before Foles imploded and before Gurley started playing?

As ridiculous as that sounds, is how ridiculous it sounds to me when rationalizing DeFilippo. Hiring him would just be yet another step down by Fisher. From Schottenheimer to Cignetti to Boras to DeFilippo would be a trend that would further cement the idea that Fisher's been past by.

I agree that anything other than an experienced OC wont float my boat, but I do think higher of DeFilippo than you.
It ultimately is worse case scenario, Boring Boras and the 300 total yards, 14 ppg and hope the D can hold them to 10 kinda team

I have a feeling Fisher will stick with Boras. He wants to be able to run his kind of offense and he doesn't want an experienced OC who would want to run his own offense. Boras will be calling the plays but Fisher will overrule him if he thinks he needs to. I also have a feeling we're going to continue seeing an offense that struggles to score 20 points. Will that be enough to be a playoff team? I don't know. But it sure makes it hard to win when you can't score enough.

I used to think Bud Adams was a real thorn in the side of Fisher's chances at success but now I'm thinking that ol' Bud was just frustrated with Fisher's terrible approach to offense. Only once since 2000 has a Jeff Fisher team cracked the top 10 in offense(pts). As the Rams coach, he hasn't cracked the top 20.

Never a good sign when a cat decides to take a demotion to stay where he's at instead of a promotion to a new place

Didn't Schottenheimer do essentially the same thing to get outta Dodge?
