PARAM wrote:If we were to judge Gurley's overall performance by the numbers alone, and that's surely not an accurate assessment, we might think he had a drop off after 2017.

First of all none of this is an "assessment of Gurley," since he's more than his long runs. The discussion was about the OL and the meaning of YPC in 2015. It's just a fact that the OL in 2015 was ranked low for good reason, but the YPC was deceptive because of the yardage TG produced on his own.

If you use numbers to assess a back, you look at a LOT more than open field yards. So this was not about that.

Geesh!!! I know what it was about. I simply made a statement looking at the numbers with regard to Gurley and his bum knee. I've been participating in this thread so I know what it was about. Do you really feel the need to point that out to me? To quote Bill Murray, "lighten up, Francis!" :D

As zn states, "the discussion was about the OLine" :idea2:
I started this thread because after suffering the slings and arrows of Kromer backers these past months, I was where the Rams best OLineman, Team Captain, Community Leader/Rams NFL MOTYear Candidate, and locker room leader, Andrew Whitworth, stated what I had been saying: IE.
Los Ramos 2019 problems (IE. no 2019 Playoffs) started with the OL weaklinks Noteboom & Allen. :idea2:

"Hallelujah!" thought...."Whit sees the world the way I do! Finally, some confirmation that my OLine observations are valid!"....(and by connecting this failing to Kromer, my theorem is beyond reproach!)

BUT.....this RFU place is a fountain of bright eclectic guys.....which is why I like posting here BTW!!! :idea2: :arrow2: :!2: Relax....that was actually a compliment fellas!!! ;) :arrow2: :lol2:

Alternative (& inventive) Theories to WhyNoPlayoffs for the 2019 Rams:
-Poor Defense! ME: Yebbut, Wade got fired!
-Missed GZ FG In Seattle! ME: Yebbut, Bones got fired!
-Poor Downfield Yardage By Gurley! ME: Yebbut, Skip Peete got fired!
-Poor Offensive Innovation/Adjustment! ME: Yebbut, that Fisch guy got fired!
ME: Hey, how come the archetect of the Ram 2019 underachieving OLine gets a Free Pass???!!! :? :arrow2: :roll2:

Damm....the only guy still employed who had fingerprints on the 2019 Ram Debacle Year is Aaron BSArtist Kromer!!! :roll2:

Well, I just hope that McSnead draft OL early and often come April! :idea2: :arrow2: 8-)

No it doesn't always get down to some sort of personalized melodrama of some kind. So yeah lightening up is in order.

I corrected what I thought was a misperception. And did so without any drama. I thought you misread. I misread all the time, and in fact apparently I did this time. To me, no big. Shrug. 8-)

No problem here. Didn't think you were getting personal and I wasn't getting in your grille, hence the smiley face. It's all good. I thought perhaps, you thought that was my first post in the thread and didn't want me derailing it. No harm, no foul. >>>>>>>Bonus points: Can you name the BM movie I referenced (hint: it ain't "a life aquatica" which wasted my money and 2 hours of my life in the theatre)

ROTFLMAO @ Fisch!!! He got fired because the real guy in charge of offensive innovation/adjustment wasn't going to fire himself!!! Why didn't Kromer go? Like I said before, perhaps Kromer wasn't the loudest guy in the room when they wondered if they should let Saffold and Sullivan walk. :idea2:

Many wondered if Bill Callahan was going to replace him, since he coached with McVay in Washington. It's possible McVay might not hold him in high regard? He worked with him in 2015 and 2016 when the Redskins ranked #20 and #21 in rushing with a collective average of 4.0 per carry. During those same 2 years, Kromer's O line in Buffalo led the league in rushing with a collective ypc of 5.1 (with a high of 5.3 in 2016).

Well, not to nitpick but that was Sergeant Hulka’s line, not Murray....

Here.. I'll help you with one thing.. McVay sure as hell knows what went wrong.. and Kromer is coming back.

McVay has shown he's more than happy to move on from a coach, if he thinks there needs to be a change.

So.. either you think McVay is fucking stupid when it comes to evaluating his Oline coach.. or you believe McVay knows more about the process and why it ended up so shitty and that it wasn't just Kromer or anything close to it.

One or the other fucked up. McVay isn't getting fired this year so that leaves Kromer. What sticks in everyone's crawl is other teams played with less starters and excelled. It does mine anyway.

Dick84 wrote:Orrrrr... THE ORGANIZATION.. fucked up. I mean.. the buck stops at McVay and Snead, not Kromer. Not in this case. If it did? He'd be gone.

So you don't think they asked their oline coach if he thought they could win with Noteboom and Allen as starters? Of course they did.

Dick84 wrote:So... you don't think McVay and Snead watched them in practice?
Of course they did.

And.. what if the answer was.. "There will be some really rough spots.. but IF THE OTHER GUYS ON THE LINE HOLD UP THEIR END OF IT.. .they'll be fine... "

Or if the answer was... "I'd like more, to be honest.. but I'll do my best to have them up and running. I get it, we have a salary cap to deal with."

And if my aunt had a dick she'd be my uncle. We just disagree. If they have a solid line with guys he's chose then I'll come back to this thread and admit I'm wrong.
