I still don't understand why that quote bothered some Rams fans so much? Was it because he was exaggerating and we were never actually as good as 8-8?

Yeah, I kinda think he will.

My Card fan cousins adamantly deny it as they believe that Carson and Fitz won't come back if Arians leaves and they will suck. They love him.

Arians could just be waiting until after the Hawk game to make it official and someone leaked it.

There should be plenty of head coaching jobs opening up at the conclusion of the 2017 season. Keep an eye out for Jeff Fisher as a dark horse candidate to take some lowly, gullible NFL team to the highest heights of a 7-win season.

He's certainly campaigning for it with his belief he left the Rams well off. So if you're a team who has consistently sucked, hire him, enjoy the annual 7-9 bullshit and hope he leaves your team well off too. Of course all you gotta do after that is find a quality head coach like McVay and you're good.

Here's a question for all of us scarred Rams fans:
Would you choose Jeff Fisher or Hue Jackson? Not for the Rams but one of these guys has already been give the dreaded vote of confidence and the other is begging to get back in.

With the success the Vikings are having and with Keenum's success in particular, I've heard that Shurmur's name will be in the HC carousel next year. Kind of hard to believe in a lot of ways and I think since the Vikings' success is more about their defense it would be misplaced reward for the OC to get a HC gig and be a Linehan type hire for the hypothetical team. But, a guy who can coach an offense to pretty good point production's always going to get a chance.

Shurmur's only HC gig was in Cleveland so it's hard to say just how good or bad he is and regardless, he may have learned a few things since then. Is there a list yet of the teams that will be looking to hire?

Uh, oh. I just realized that if Shurmur goes to a new team that he might need a QB and who's been the biggest advocate of a certain polarizing QB who will again be looking for a starting gig?

Guys who I think will get HC jobs this year,
McDaniels
Toub
Shurmer
And if Hue Jackson keeps his job in Cleveland, the bar is set so low I cant even comprehend it. 1-31 over 2 years makes Spags 10-38 look Lombardi-ish

Yeah, I've been down for so long as a Rams fan, I've kind of adopted the Browns as my comfort zone team and one that I'm rooting for good things for. I never got the love for Hue and he's proven to be more awful than I even imagined he would be. That they would take on Britt even after seeing how bad he was, as their top opting this year. Starting Kizer over Kessler...or at all, really. It's just a hot mess.

But, just like with the Rams, there are some pieces in place with that offense. They could be much improved but not with their own version of Jeff Fisher in charge.
