9 mill a year is a tad bit low.

His market value is 10-12.

Franchise tag is just under 14 mil for a corner, so yeah, if that's right, it's low...

Also, we haven't seen all the details. What if the guaranteed money is a low figure. This and that.

The only way we can judge Jenkz is when he signs with another team and for how much. Until then I can't take any sides. If we were in the same situation as him, we would do the same.

The guy has a lot of mouths to feed. Literally, he has like a million kids.

I've done the math.

If he started when he was fourteen, and impregnated a woman every hour (certainly, a better man than me) until his present age, his progeny would number 217,474.

You have misused the word "literally".

Literally.

How do you like me so far? :D

My take too...

Me three.

Let him walk. Not worth paying him top tier CB money. Again go watch game film on him from past few years not just last year. Last year was his best year simply because he was in his last year of his contract. Just who he is. Still turns his back on ball consistently when ball is thrown his way. Sorry that is not top tier mechanics for a CB. More money won't change that.

Take care of Johnson. Gaines hopefully coming back fully healthy. There is depth at the position. Jenkins either signs a team friendly contract or see ya. No franchise tag either. Hopefully he signs with a NFC West team so we can throw at his ass twice a year. It's how much I think of him as a CB!

Did he fire his agent for not getting more money or for turning down an acceptable deal? We'll never know.

Really too bad.
This is the big one for JJ,, his chance to buy all the reefer he could ever want,, have 27 more kids,, whatever, so he has to try and squeeze as much out of the Rams as he can.
Tweeting that he was insulted isn't a positive development. It goes to show you that these guys are really out of touch with common man.
Him turning down the Rams first offer does not disturb me. Publicly bitching about it is unprofessional and that disturbs me. With Gaines in the mix, JJ loses some leverage.
I would counter with 10.5 for 5 years with the 4th and 5th year team options. Give him his guarantees but make the contract incentive laden to compensate for the slightly lower rate.

Otherwise, we roll the dice with EJ and kick JJ to the curb.

Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins fires his agent

Posted on February 28, 2016 by Vincent Bonsignore

The Los Angeles News group has confirmed through a high-ranking league source that Los Angeles Rams’ cornerback Janoris Jenkins has fired agent Malik Shareef.

Jenkins is one of 12 unrestricted free agents on the Rams, and one of their two UFA starting cornerbacks along with Trumaine Johnson whom they hope to retain this offseason.

The move by Jenkins comes at an inopportune time as the Rams have had on-going discussions with his agent about a new long-term deal. By NFL rules, Jenkins is not allowed to hire an agent for five days and the Rams are not allowed to negotiate with him during that time. Nevertheless, sources indicate it shouldn’t be a long-range detriment to the Rams locking Jenkins up.

The Rams are contemplating whether to use their franchise tag on either Jenkins or Johnson, a decision that might rely heavily on progress on a long-term deal with one or the other.

The Rams are allowed to franchise tag Jenkins during the five-day grace period, if they so decided.

He fired his agent so he could go on social media and be an ass. I guess he showed the Rams. I hope they transition him while his agent doesn't exist. Although that would be too much.

I can't stand guys like this. Let him walk, sign TruJo and Mac. Gaines will be ready to step in JJ's spot.
