So, take the Capital from a Goff trade (a 2?) combine that with OUR 2 and maybe a player (Rapp, Darious?) to move into 1st Round and Draft Trey Lance.....??? :) :) :)

What they could do is trade up into first round with this years and next years 2nd rounders and draft a QB McVay wants. Then they can recover next years 2nd by trading Goff after June 1. They could throw in a player in the deal like Henderson.

Other unattainable 'specific' trade / draft ideas that your idea brought back to light. These may look familiar.
w/o to much research and lots of dreaming here are a few scenarios,,

Jags #1 for Goff, Reynolds, Hendi and picks. Get Lawrence or Fields. Not likely at all though.

Falcons #4 for Goff, Reynolds, Hill and picks. That's if Ryan hangs 'em up. Get Fields or Mac Jones. Reunite JG with TGII (if he is resigned).

Lions #7 if Stafford moves on. Same base trade and pick up Jones or Tre Lance.

Broncos #9 for similar package with less future picks and go after Jones or Lance.

Giants #11 for similar package no picks and go after BQBA still on the board if he fits our needs.

Like 74's idea if Rodgers wants to hang them up and reuniting Goff with LaFleur. It would be fun to see how he does compared to McV.

or Rams try and trade up for Sam Ehlinger, Texas in the 2nd to give Goff a push.

Otherwise build Goff the best line in the NFL which will solve his and Akers needs...

If I somehow got the Falcons 4th pick it wouldnt be to take Fields or Mac Jones it would be to take Zach Wilson.

Has anyone considered that the competition for Goff is already in the roster? MCV really seemed enamored with Wolford. And, they are developing Perkins who is also more mobile than Goff. Kyle Trask/Florida would be available 2nd/3rd round if they wanted to add a rookie to the room/competition. Or, try to trade up higher in the 2nd to get Mac Jones should he be available.

I think Goff beats any and all of them in camp for the starting job.

If MCV is really done with Goff, let’s see how bad dads Snead really is, and how heavy the price, and go get Watson. Then, how shrewd he is in dealing Goff which would have to happen cap wise if they get Watson. Perhaps Goff, this year’s 2 and next year’s 2 could get that deal done if Watson really wants out that badly.

Honestly, I don’t think Watson is leaving Houston.

I do think McVay has a big issue with Goff. And I think it’s possible the locker room has a problem with Goff as well. MJD said players see the highest paid guy on the team not playing up to the level of his contract and they’re getting a fraction of that and playing their asses off. That’s a problem that McVay has to react to. Plus, they see a kid like Wolford working his ass off during the bye week, and Goff is out chilling somewhere “clearing his head.”

McVay wants more energy from the QB position. It’s just a question of how he gets it now.

You’re going to feel pretty silly in a month or so when McVay gives Goff a full vote of confidence.

Nope. If he does, it will be after Goff has demonstrated that he has taken the challenge to heart and worked his tail off. It means he’s in there right now working on being one step ahead of everyone on the field instead of a half step behind. Goff is either gonna get it or he’s gonna be gone.

Listen to the latest BETWEEN THE HORNS episode. MJD, Farr, and Long all agree that Goff needs to step his game up big time or he could be gone. Farr said Goff needs to be in there now working his tail off. MJD said the locker room isn’t happy when a guy is the highest paid player and he’s not playing up to his contract and they’re making a fraction of that. Those announcers are paid by the Rams and they’re saying this stuff. It means McVay is ok with it being said.

And this is the kind of criticism I had for Goff weeks ago, and as usual got laughed at on this board by you and some others. Fortunately, there are thoughtful open minded posters who have PMed me in support.
