He led them to 34. They missed a 2 point conversion, but that was after the pick 6 which doesn’t count in his scoring. And Tampa got the ball on their own 47, not the Rams 47. As for the turnover situation, it wasn’t good. It was horrible to turn over 4 times. But his arm got hit on the first, it happens. He threw a pic on that awful 4th down play which was a turnover either way, by downs if incomplete or on his record when caught. I know we are in agreement on this, just conversing details, but I do believe Goff’s effort is lost in the sauce here. Down 21, gets them back to down 7. Down 14, back to 8. Back down again by 18, gets them back in the game. He did a lot of great things in this game. Heck, Joe Montana is a folk hero for “the catch” play with Dwight Clark but people forget that Joe Cool had 4 turnovers in that game... speaking of which, Goff’s 517 yards ties Brady for 8th highest total in single game. Rarified air there. Those 8 guys were 6-2. 5 of the 8 threw 2 or more picks, Esiason threw 4 and still won. Crazy to think that had the strip sack not occurred, Goff had a legit shot at breaking the all time passing record which seemed unbreakable. So basically, all Goff needed to do was to break Van Brocklin’s 554 and convert a 2 point successfully, just to tie the game up. Doesn’t seem like asking too much doh, yeah, 34 not 33....clearly we're on the same page here, in fact i'm finding it awfully tough to wrap my head around some of the comments:- the defense couldn't bail goff out this time?- goff gave the bucs 28 points?i mean wow, really.hell, warner (circa 1999-2001) had a higher turnover rate (picks + lost fumbles) than goff has had under mcvay.again, i'm not making excuses for goff's play, it wasn't his best day at the office, but the guy led the rams to 34 points, threw for a country mile, and the defense chipped in with another 6 to make it 40, and goff as singled out as "a problem", not the friggin' defense? absolutely cra cra imo. 1 by AvengerRam 5 years 8 months ago Total posts: 8919 Joined: Oct 03 2017 Lake Mary, Florida Hall of Fame Goff is a problem POST #82 moklerman wrote:I certainly don't understand the thought that because there was pressure it's less Goff's fault. Then you don’t understand football. by moklerman 5 years 8 months ago Total posts: 7680 Joined: Apr 17 2015 Bakersfield, CA Hall of Fame Goff is a problem POST #83 AvengerRam wrote:Then you don’t understand football. How a QB performs under pressure is pretty much the key to the position. The O line gave up 2 sacks Sunday but 9 QBH. But it's all good. They'll get better as the season progresses. Noteboom, Allen and the other 3 growing into a tighter unit under Kromer. So far we weathered their inexperience (3-1) and if we mirror that the rest of the way, 12-4 ain't bad at all. Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there. Dude hasn’t played well this year. Advanced or traditional stats say so. Want to make excuses for him, go ahead. Rams line stinks. Won’t argue. But if the argument is he needs great blocking an all pro back gashing opponents for 125 yards every game, well lot of QBs play well in that scenario. 1 Reply 9 / 43 1 9 43 Display: All posts1 day7 days2 weeks1 month3 months6 months1 year Sort by: AuthorPost timeSubject Sort by: AscendingDescending Jump to: Forum Rams/NFL Other Sports Rams Fans United Q&A's Board Business 428 posts Jul 01 2025

Any objective person who watched the game would readily acknowledge that the pressure was excessive.I could say the same about your propensity to defend Goff. On a day where the o-line gave up only 2 sacks and kept Goff protected well enough to throw for 500+ yards, I think it's reasonable to say that the pass blocking was manageable. 4 turnovers and 3 missed wide open TD's were more problematic than the pass pro. by PARAM 5 years 8 months ago Total posts: 13212 Joined: Jul 15 2015 Just far enough North of Philadelphia Hall of Fame Goff is a problem POST #88 moklerman wrote:I could say the same...…..On a day where the o-line gave up only 2 sacks and kept Goff protected well enough to throw for 500+ yards, I think it's reasonable to say that the pass blocking was manageable. 4 turnovers and 3 missed wide open TD's were more problematic than the pass pro.Is that so? Throwing for 500 yards sounds like they had a wall in front of him but...68 attempts?
