moklerman wrote:Yeah, literally speaking CJ was released twice last year but I don't think that is the perception of him at this particular point. I think he is viewed as a pretty good RB that many probably wonder why he was released by Oakland and Carolina more than they think he's a guy who can't produce, much less stick on a roster.
.

Thanks for seeing the other side of this...
Actually, he was released 3 times last year :D
CJ is a good back, has had a 1k season and pro-bowl nod under his belt.
Denver cut him (to some surprise) in Mid-April last year, well after the FA period was in full force, and teams were set. Denver screwed up their cap with the Case signing and had to cut CJ. Again, he gets cut in early March (like this season) its a different story.
He signs a 1 year deal with Carolina, to be in the 1-2 punch with McAffrey. Unbelievably, Carolina uses McAffrey for like 97% of the carries, almost unheard of. When Carolina cut CJ, it was after trade deadline. So yeah, only a playoff team is interested in a player on the end of a 1 year deal. Its silly for anyone else at that point. So? Hello silly.... The Raiders... Who knows what they were thinking. He was cheap at that point but thanks to o-line injuries, they released him a minute later.
So for me, when talking about him, and not considering the "why", its just a gross generalization to just look at his cut...
Anywho, he played great for the Rams and should be in good shape for some decent $$, even if on a short deal. Would figure he's the 3rd best FA RB right now, and likely too expensive for the Rams.

Makes sense.....reunites with Patricia, his ol' NE DC, now needing big help in Motown, and the beleaguered HC Patricia reaching out to his known young former player. :idea2:

Stafford eventually overcame his injury issues so it's possible. But the Eagles better have a "backup" plan. I wonder who they pick up or have already? Glennon, Bortles...there's some names out there.
