Saints signing Tyrunn Walker after Sheldon Rankins injury: report

Defensive tackle Tyrunn Walker is signing with the Saints, according to an NFL Network report, and he’ll provide depth after the team lost Sheldon Rankins to a ruptured Achilles in the divisional round win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

To make room for the 28-year-old Walker, the Saints will place Rankins on injured reserve, per the report. Rankins is scheduled to have surgery this week.

A New Iberia native, Walker was with the Saints from 2012-14, playing seven games in 2013 and 16 in 2014. Walker also had multiple workouts with the Saints in 2018, but they never signed him. Walker was with the Bills briefly in the summer, but he didn’t play any games in 2018.

Now, Walker will join the Saints with a chance to play against his former team as he was with the Los Angeles Rams in 2017. Walker will presumably play behind David Onyemata, Tyeler Davison and rookie Taylor Stallworth, but the Saints felt they needed more depth after losing Rankins.

Key point in this sentence is that it was against Dallas and its one dimensional offense, a suspect coach and a mediocre QB. All of which is out the window against the Saints.
Suh did raise his game and played better.

I wish it was as simple as saying......... team x scored few points against team y so they will also score few points against team z.

One of those game is without their starters. But for a better comparison here is what the saints put up against the Rams...……. you know the team they are about to play.

45.

If you're very touchy about hearing a bad thing said about your team and then go into defensive mode then i'll just rephrase what i said.............. our defense is not our strength and will be a problem against a very offensive coach who has at his disposal a lot of offensive weapons and an elite QB.

We can hope that Wade comes out with a shutdown game plan but we have been hoping for that for weeks now. We can hope that Suh plays even better than what he did against Dallas but in my view thats unlikely and our path to victory is through our offense carrying us. I would love to be surprised and win the game 23-14

Wow. Ok, now I get it. Another negative Nellie.

Thanks for making me look like a homer. Maybe I’ll get a little more slack when I’m critical of the team.

Right so no actual retort. Hahahaa…. Sorry Max...…. I forgot who you were. I pay more attention to the post than the username so as to not have any bias in my response. Lol.

Wanna talk about how this is a legacy building/show me what you got game for Goff? :mrgreen2:

Not crazy about the start time. Any way we can swap kickoff times with the chef's? A later start time doesn't matter in a dome. Main reason I wanted the hated eagles to beat the hated aint's was to get the late start time.

If the Eagles had won, kickoff still would’ve been noon PT in the Coliseum...

Thanks Elvis. Didn't know that. Does seem to be a odd start time. I can't recall an NFL game ever starting at 2pm Kansas time. Always noon or 3 or later.

Definitely weird, a noon NFL start in L.A., not sure that's ever happened but that was the plan...
