Well the market is set and Tru can come back to reality with his demands.

AJ Bouye $67.5 mil/ 26 guaranteed (13.5 per year)
Stephan Gilmore $65 mil/ 40 guaranteed ...WOW...( 13.0 per year)
Dre Kirkpatrick $52.5 mil for 5 years (10.5 mil/ avg)
Logan Ryan $30 mil / ? guaranteed (10 mil per)
Prince Amukamara signed for 1 year with the Bears (he got 5.5 last year from Jax)
DJ Hayden $5.25 mil/ 1 year

Right now Tru has to be happy getting the 16.7 for 2017 but he has to know that's risky. Long term is security especially with the guaranteed bucks. Cleveland and Greg Williams seems like the best fit, especially with their cap space and abundance of draft picks. Supply and demand. Not a lot of good CB's left on the market. Trade value rising/reasonable contract request should be much less than tag. Should we anticipate a good pick for him? A couple of decent picks? Or keeping him in a long term deal?

I'd like to move him and hope for the top pick in round 3 from the Browns.

Undrafted Free Agent

I posted shortly after the announcement that Philips would be joining the Rams that his philosophy in the defensive backfield was vastly different than GW's and he preferred cb's who could hold coverage much longer. With the upcoming draft loaded with defensive back's, Philips/Rams may decide to go young at the position. I expect Rams to add a minimum of two defensive backs in draft to compliment Countess, Hill, Gaines etc..

Snead made it clear they were not doing a long term deal with Tru until Philips had time to evaluate him. Translation I expect they will move him via trade but will wait for the best offer which may not come until the draft begins.

I think for the Rams to trade Tru, they will need to pull off an Osweiler type deal.
Like Tru and a 3rd rounder for some teams 5th rounder...

It may require a deal like that but I think you may have the picks reversed. Maybe Tru and a pick for a higher pick. I can't see the Rams giving up value, both on the field and in the draft room, for less value just to take his salary off our hands. It's not a long term deal like the Texans were strapped with Osweiler.

Osweiler's guarantees are mostly in 2017, so its virtually the same thing. Problem with Tru is that he cant be franchised again, so you're getting a 1 year rental who's being paid 20-30% more than the best CB's in the league, while he's just a "good" one
Ultimately, it looks like next off season is a better year to lose him as the Rams will likely be investing a ton in to their own FA and may not be making big strides outside. So losing him will likely get them the 3rd round comp pick that they wouldn't be getting if he signed elsewhere this year

I still don't understand why they franchised him. Too much money. Much better to let him walk and sign one of the better CB's for less. I think Snead screwed the pooch.

Typically, I would agree. But, in this case, LaCan makes a lot of sense. I think we are stuck with him at $16.7 mil unless something happens before the end of the 3rd round in the draft. Wade will get to test Tru out in his system and if he fits, they try to work out a long term deal.

For the trade honestly I can see both sides, post was just meant as a joke because we have a long track record as Rams fans with this guy telling us something will or won't happen then almost 100% of the time he's wrong. :D

Oh, I know man. And I hope he is wrong here and we fleece someone but good in a trade. I am just prepared for it to go the other way. What I DON'T want to see is unloading him for a late round pick, unless we just have to get cap relief.
