You can't just cut his pay though. You have to move money in to future years. In order to do that you have to increase guaranteed money in future years or the player and his agent won't do it. We're slated next year to have at least $78 million n cap space. We're going to need to extend Aaron Donald which is likely going to take $20 million of that cap. That's reason one to not touch Tavons contract oh actually you also need to have the players cooperation in the restructure. Good luck getting him to do that less than a year after signing the deal.

Now the big reason not to mess with next years cap is it will be year two of McVay. A lot of this year is going to be him and the coaches evaluating the roster in their system. If you go and screw with next years cap you're hindering him being able to bring in player she wants as a fit. Say he doesn't think Tavon is a fit after this year he can cut him next year with no cap hit. That is unless you restructure him this year. Then you still end up laying him this years cap hit, if not more. You just spread it over two years and hurts your future for a very minor bandaid for 2017.

There is no benefit to restructuring Tavon long term and very little benefit short term. Bite the Fisher bullet and you might get out of it easy after this season. Otherwise next year your going to be doing the same thing, regretting Tavons cap hit and wanting to restructure him again.

I don't like the contract or player anymore than anybody else does. But to push money back hurts us more than it he
Ps us this year.

Or Barron. There isn't anything to do with these contracts until next offseason. Not sure where the freaking out commented was directed but I'm not freaking out.

I'm disappointed that the early word doesn't have the Rams getting Wr help. Robert Woods and others of his ilk do little to excite me. There's always next year  :|

IMO there really isn't anything in the WR free agent market to get excited about. A bunch of mediocre guys who are going to get over paid for there production. Which will lead to next year people adding his contract to the over pay list next to Tavon and Barron.

It's still early, but I'm leaning this way as well. It was our FO that stated they would be active in FA and focused on getting WR help. Now there's plenty of time to fulfill that, but right now it wouldn't hurt to be at least mentioned as active

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Jackson being a true deep threat to keep defenses out of the box would help the running game. Having a reliable sure handed tough guy like Garcon is the type of hard working vet you want the young pups to learn from. Knowing Mcvay's offense was just icing on the cake.

I know Jeffrey has had a suspension and injury issues. He's still young and shown high end production and can be a match up nightmare that has to be accounted for especially in the red zone.

I haven't heard anything on Terrelle Pryor other than he wanted to stay in Cleveland but he could easily be the best of the bunch. His size, speed, and hands are as good as any out there. His route running was surprisingly good. He's really good right now but I think he's barely scratched the surface.

Any one of those would lead to at least some optimism. but after that I agree, not much to even bother with.

Unless Desean Jackson is just playing, it looks like he's probably going to make a decision soon. In his post didn't give a clue where.

I don't want to read too much into it. It could be LA or maybe Florida. Maybe he's in LA, but planning on signing with another team.

That's definitely not Florida. There's no hill that tall in the entire state.
