McVay seemed to think so before he publicly said he still has the fire and wants to play (somewhere) in 2025. Much of this comes filtered down from what Ram players, Coaches and reporters have heard in the past from Stafford, not to mentions numerous quotes from his wife. I don't think anyone doubts it's been at least a thought since winning a super bowl and getting paid. You don't think he's used it in negotiations?

How is it possible to undervalue an under rated vet QB? I don't know but I believe that's exactly whats happening. If the Rams don't pay him and let him walk without a lateral or better replacement (which happens to be pure fantasy at the moment) they deserve to return to the Linehan/Spags/Fisher era. And any fan advocating for that deserves the same.

I don’t know that, and neither do you. We can assume that, given his age, he’s thought about it, but that’s just an assumption.

In all honesty I've heard reports in various places at different times where it was mentioned that Stafford has considered it. But as someone who is retired....I talked about it years before I was personally ready to do it. But that was me and a business I created from scratch so it's a completely different thing.

The guy has millions of $$$$ so he's not playing for money other than simple greed. I'm sure his ego is telling him this is the bottomline dollar I'd play for and if it's not there I will walk away. That is the complicated part of this. If I was a team considering trading for Matt, I'd want some assurances from the man himself on how long he is considering playing. If he says that's it's a year to year thing I'd shake his hand and say "See ya around".

I'm also sure at one point or another one of the beat reporters mentioned that he was considering it as an option.

Let's face it all he's really playing for is greed and ego.

The Giant HC and front office are under fire to deliver. The quickest fix in their mind is probably Stafford. In all honesty, if they do a comprehensive physical on him and turn up chronic tendonitis he's done with everyone. Frankly, I think it's 50/50 that he plays for anyone this season. I know his health has been brought up in trade talks from reports. Compensation to the Rams is conditional on his playing at least 65% of the season from some reports. People think I'm delusional for keep talking about his health but it's so damn obvious to anyone who cares to look. So yeah I'm not surprised at health and how long will he play are part of the negotiations.

1. Maybe he’s playing because he enjoys it.

2. You don’t know if there have been any trade talks, and you certainly don’t know what was discussed if there have been.

I like speculating as much as the next guy, but some of you seem incapable of distinguishing opinions and guesses from actual facts.

If you read enough on the internet you're gonna hear all sorts of things in various places. Canada becoming the 51st state, an Elvis sighting and Stafford mulling retirement. I've even heard people quote his wife, which to me is nothing more than advertisement for her podcast.

Bottom line is this: There is no better QB option for the Los Angeles Rams. There will be no, "if you don't like it, walk" ultimatums. There is NO WAY anything turns out good for the LA Rams if they don't sign Stafford.

But it is the off season, the ideal time to exercise our literary, typing and creative writing skills. And just like the 'Canadian issue', Elvis sightings and Stafford opinions, none of it has any basis in fact. Unless of course, you work in the Rams front office. Otherwise, 100% opinions and judging by what I've read lately, not logical ones at that.

Nothing is happening until the new league year starts March 12 with legal tampering starting March 10. Speculations and rumors will run rampant and increase dramatically between now and then. Trades can’t happen until March 12. So we have another 3 weeks of this nonsense. Sure there will be some not so clandestine “talks” that happen and insiders who get tidbits of whatever is purposely leaked. It could be crazy. Both Stafford and Kupp could get traded. Maybe the Rams fine a way to get Joe Burrow. More likely is that Stafford gets a new 2-3 year deal, Kupp gets traded for a bag of chips and having to eat some contract cash, and the Rams sign or trade for someone who no one expected was on their radar.

In other words. It’s all bullshit till it ain’t.

Just had @AdamSchefter on Talkin' Ball with Pat Leonard. He told me "there is no way in hell that the #Giants are giving up the third overall pick for Matthew Stafford" if trade talks ever occur. But it might not even come to that.

Schefter said the #Rams' "first priority" is to re-sign Stafford, and they believe at the moment they can work something out. Plus, Stafford "would like to be back in L.A."
