Patriots hiring Alex Van Pelt as their OC. Caley didn't get the job so he hopefully returns as the Rams TE coach. Softens the asst. coaching exodus happening at Rams Park.

Anybody with the name of Shula seems like a perfect fit for the Dolphins. I think that's their guy.

But maybe I'm wrong.

Shula's been with the Rams for 7 years, so he's not a shooting star but maybe this is his time. Also, if i remember right, he and McVay are really tight over a long period of time.

Rivera is interviewing in Dallas. I could see Vrabel going there too.

I'd be cool with Staley. It's kind of self-working, but if Rams do hire him, that means they still think he's good and that would carry a lot of weight with me. McVay has been 3/3 with his DC hires. Vrabel would be good too but might get another HC shot as soon as next year whereas you figure Staley isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I'm not sure any of us saw Staley coming in 2020 so could easily end up being someone none of us are even considering or talking about...

So are we done losing assistants now? Can we settle in, hire the replacements and get to work?

There were a couple more getting interviews, don't know if teams are done hiring. Jake Peetz with Tampa, Nick Caley with the Patz and a couple of others.

The Pats didnt select Caley (supposedly wanted too much money), they selected Alex Van Pelt and Tampa hired Liam Coen, so both Caley and Peetz staying with Rams. Probably both getting promotions.
