POST #71 I kept thinking I wanted the Saints to win twice as I felt they had the best shot to be beat the F'ers. But as that game wore on I realized, the Saints O can disappear for stretches. Like the second half of last year's NFCC, Kamara disappeared. I don't think they would have beat them. Hopefully the Vikings can get 1 more! Their D seems to have slipped a bit from the top of the league group they were in 2017. They played well yesterday. I think both the Hawks and Pack have a decent shot. Lefluer (sp) and Shanny know each other well. If they match up, who has the wrinkle? Go Rams! I would have to think that certain players value would have to be weighted. ie: team loses 1 player all year but it's the QB. Fewer injuries but a very valuable position. GO RAMS !!! GO DODGERS !!! POST #73 I just saw some tweet about Seattle losing at GB the last 8 times they came to GB when Wilson has only been there 3 times and played two of those games pretty tight and GB/Rodgers has played Wilson/Carroll 4 times in Seattle and has never beat Wilson in Seattle. The Vikes and the Seahawks both match up against Frisco but the Vikes are in better health. I would love to see a Titans/Houston vs. Seahawks/Vikings Super Bowl. I would not be the least bit surprised to see Seattle win a shootout in GB. It isn't like we haven't played those games with the Hawks the last couple years. I would love to see the Vikings get pressure on Gropolo and force him into mistakes, making the Niners a done in one team. Man I hate the Niners. POST #80 TOPIC AUTHOR How I arrived at rooting for an all-purple Superbowl.Obviously the reasons to root against Seattle and San Francisco are they reside in the Rams division. Green Bay? Can you imagine the hype surrounding Aaron Rodgers winning another one AND Sean McVay's protege winning one in his rookie year? So I have to root for Minnesota, despite the fact they used to beat the Rams every other year in the postseason back in the 70's. It's the lesser of 4 evils. In the AFC, Tennessee is a blue collar team and ordinarily, that would be a good reason to root for them. But I have disliked the Titans franchise since the days of Jeff Fisher. Houston is just another team from Texas; Dallas Cowboys light so I can't root for them either, though I do like Deshawn Watson. Kansas City has probably the second highest odds to go and I have very little to dislike about that. Mahomes is one of the most exciting players in the NFL and Andy Reid has earned the respect of most football fans. But he was the Eagles head coach for a long time and residing in that area, I have developed an inherent aversion to his success. That leaves the Ravens and there are certainly reasons to root against them. On the down side, the head coach is a Harbaugh. On the up side he's not Jim Harbaugh. Lamar Jackson is the toast of the league right now and a running quarterback presents problems for the defense. I dislike that style of football....QBs were meant to pass not run.....but on the plus side, how long do running quarterbacks last in this league? So it's got to be Baltimore vs Minnesota, for me. POST #79 Please not the 40whiners, Please not the seahacks and pretty please with sugar on top not the chefs. Not that I will watch a minute of the playoffs but my choice is the ravens. No direct competition to the rams since we won't play them again until 2023 unless a superbowl by PARAM 5 years 6 months ago Total posts: 13221 Joined: Jul 15 2015 Just far enough North of Philadelphia Hall of Fame So can we talk about the playoffs yet? Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there.
