the rams faced more than a few teams this season that did this, that attempted to counter the radio communication by changing looks on the fly, post snap, belichick wasn't the first guy to do this vs the rams (which is what the piece implies imo).

i think what the patriots did extremely well was disguise who they would send after the qb, it became a shell game for the rams olinemen, never knowing exactly who to pick up in pass pro, not knowing how many were coming, nor how many per side of the ball.

and they compounded the problems this created by dropping into different zone looks at the snap of the ball.

they also did a great job of shooting gaps upfield when the rams zone stretched rather than flow with the oline or the implied direction of the play... this is something a few other teams had a lot of success with against the rams, and something that makes the rams oline look horrible.

IF they watched any film they should have, same mush front 4 man walk a backer down over the uncovered o-lineman and ran pick stunts.

The Pats told the world early who they thought the weak link was.

Plenty of people all over social and spoets media are calling for McVay's dismissal, and I repeat they're idiots.

Not my fault if you don't see it or want to acknowledge it, just like playing wilfully ignorant about "I told you so posts", simply because the exact words aren't used.

I am not being sensitive about any of this, but very matter of fact. If you are for some strange reason assuming I take your comments as aimed at me, that never even crossed my mind. I meant exactly what I said. I said I don't see anyone saying I told you so or fire McVay, and so far I also haven't seen anyone quote anyone saying that either. And I don't see any "I told you so posts" though there's always room for people to project things that are not there. That is, some people are actually adverse enough to fair criticism to the point where they see valid criticism as worse than it is.

Anyway. The usual procedure that prevents misunderstanding would be to say "I am not calling out anyone here, but this is out there in social media." Doing that in the first place makes it all more clear. It looked precisely like you were calling out people here and I am not the only one who thought so.

Plenty? I've spent hours wallowing in this loss online today and I have yet to see anyone sane posting "I told you so" and "Fire McVay!" And if you're counting a place like Barstool Sports for the "plenty" then shame on you.

cherry picking? nope, goff has made plenty of off schedule plays over the last two seasons, including two huge plays in overtime against the saints that helped put the rams in the sb, claiming that the rams need a qb that "can recognize and play off script" based on this past sunday is cherry picking, at best.
