Then those cities will lose their teams the same way Oakland and San Diego lost theirs.

Not ever city has a billionaire who is interested in owning a pro sports team. How many of those “more billionaires” are just in NY, LA or the Bay Area?

It's not just about whether an owner has the money. Carson was going to be privately funded. MetLife and Levi's were mostly privately funded and not solely by rich owners.

A lot depends on market size. Privately funding a large stadium likely won't make financial sense in a smaller market regardless of where the money is coming from. In those cases you have to have public money, or not have stadium...

My comment was intended to be tongue in cheek.
Since they do share TV and you can only fit so many fans in a stadium, not to mention the other profit streams, owning an NFL franchise is still a good investment.

…and not have a football team.

Let’s talk when an owner in flyover country builds their own stadium.

I think the clock starts this Friday: but the fines to not turn over the financial records are only $1000/day.

Now it'll get nasty. Heads will eventually roll but in the meantime, StL doesn't get paid a dime.

The Rams and NFL are probably already prepping paperwork to go to the US Supreme Court.

The other option is for them to completely ignore the judge. But if they don’t turn over documents in a reasonable amount of time, the judge can issue a determination of the case against the defendants in the case. Meaning they basically would have the judge say they are automatically guilty.
