I enjoyed my recent trip to Stl not to see the Rams. First time just to go there.

I took the Amtrak from Springfield, Illinois.

I could see the Arch as we got closer, and I felt a massive amount of emotion. The train went across a bridge across the Mississippi.

That was so beautiful. Or perhaps I was remembering all of the wonderful memories I have being there.

I stayed at a friend’s renovated warehouse Airbnb / bar. In apparently a bad part of town. It was awesome. Loved it! They told me that had the Rams stadium been built, they were a designation as we were right behind it, kinda behind the old electrical building - I think.

Awesome people. Felt at home. So fun and wonderful.

I think this was the first time in Stl I got to know the people who live there.

Only sharing this because obviously I wanted the Rams home to LA, but I now have a huge love for StL that I didn’t know I had.

I mentioned it in the stadium thread that they’re proposing to tear down the Dome, then build a whole new convention center in its place and the old tailgate lot instead of renovating the existing one. Then where the current one is build attached parking garages, hotel(s) and covered loading docks. Basically copying the Nashville convention center.

Tuesday morning St. Louis radio dump:
-There are no formal or even semi formal negotiations. Any "talks" were through intermediaries and way unofficial. However those are not occurring as the NFL/Rams think the Missouri State Supreme Court will rule in their favor and the St. Louis group aren't interested in settling.
-Part of what the St. Louis group wants is a public admission from the NFL that there was nothing the city leaders could do to keep the Rams.
-The St. Louis group want to know why when Stan bought the team from Georgia's kids in 2010 that everything was done in California. Part of this wasn't known but discovered in some of the paperwork left behind at Rams Park. The new financial records discovery is to fill in the gaps.
-When St. Louis writers are getting pinged from outside about the case its not from national football or LA Rams writers. It's coming from British soccer writers and related to Arsenal.

If true, this is curious. I was under the impression that all of the city leaders from that time are no longer in office. If so, why do they care?

I can make a guess. Stan wanted to bring the Rams back to the lucrative LA market. Why wouldn't he?

It's all about the hate man. Tough way to live your life. Let it go and move on. A vast majority of people would have forgotten by now. This is just keeping the wound open. It's kinda sad and pathetic IMHO.

so,,
1 - The MO. Supreme court could still put the kibosh on all this. If not I'd imagine things may get handled differently moving forward.
2- Their may be some legal reason's why the Rams may not want to admit that, like it wasn't true. I bet the Rams/NFL would like for StL to have to publically admit they failed to keep up their end of the lease agreement allowing/compelling the Rams to change their direction. I doubt either will ever do that.
3- Didn't Shaw keep the Rams offices in LA up until 2010 when he moved on? LA has never been completely out of the picture. GF is buried in LA too. Of course I'm sure the local lawyers want that to be perceived as the fix was in from conception.
4- Besides having nothing to do with the suit, sounds like a witch hunt because of the way he runs the Arsenal. Or have they recently screwed up their uniforms too?

The Brits have never been fond of any of the Americans owning "their" soccer teams. Probably just digging for dirt.

Poor Stan.
