Briefly, here is what I would like to see from the Rams D vs. the Broncos.

DL: Suh said it in preseason, and repeated it this week, in so many words. “Play the run first”. They haven’t done that recently. They are shooting gaps off the snap, with little regard to playing the run. To a certain extent, it may be these guys thinking “ They’re paying us a jillion dollars, and we’re not getting many sacks”. Puts too much pressure on this next group...

LB: Certainly below average talent, but we all knew that. When Littleton, in his first year as a starter, is head and shoulders above anyone else the Rams trot out there, there will be inevitable problems. Hoping Barron can build off his second half performance last week. If the Rams get anything off the edge, even keeping up their average run contain, I’ll consider it a bonus. I smell a deadline trade for an edge guy.

DB: I am not panicking about Peters. If healthy, he’ll help you more than hurt you long term. Just hope he’s getting healthier. If he is, he could have a good game, as Case tends to put a lot of air under the ball. Shields is kind of a wild card, I don’t think the Rams know what they have in him yet. When you miss that much time, it probably was the plan to ease him in there more gradually, then Talib happened. Kinda disappointed in NRC’s tackling this year, he used to be money. Hope he can step it up this game, as with a 21 point lead, the Rams will be in a lot of nickel. Safety play has to improve 100%, ( JJ has had maybe six good quarters, that is six more than Joyner ) as they’ve been MIA, and missed a boatload of tackles. Lastly, let Troy Hill take his obligatory stupid penalty on teams, not defence.

agree with everything you wrote but i want to see the rams defense do better than hold these stiffs to 24, their offense stinks... thru week 5 the keenum-led donkeys rank 23rd in offensive scoring despite playing two games against the woefully bad chiefs and raiders defenses (26th and 30th in offensive points allowed), and they've scored more than 23 points just once in the 5 games they've played... i want to see the rams defense dominate!
