I think that comes from rooting for a team based on location. I'm sure some of the "excuse the term" old school St. Louis fans were Cardinal fans, but became Ram fans when they relocated to St. Louis. Now ordinarily one would surmise this could not be possible, however, I grew up a Notre Dame fan being Catholic back then that was the only college team your family allowed you to root for.

Well, being stationed in Dayton, Ohio serving in the military (84-90) I would go up to Columbus every Saturday when the Buckeyes were playing at home. Never had a chance to do that growing in Upstate, NY and enjoyed every minute got caught up in it and have an Ohio State Buckeye fan ever since. I never could how anyone could switch allegiances, but I did. Now I do root for both, but when they both play I'm Scarlet and Gray all the way.

IMO, this is similar the football fans in St. Louis grew up Cardinal fans and switch to the Rams when they moved to St. Louis and now would be more bitter towards the Rams and would try to support the Cardinals. I understand it and that's why it's not good and that is also why I cringed when Georgia said holding up the Lombardi "This proves we made the right decision in moving to St. Louis."

I realize how the people felt in Southern California they did nothing to deserve it and I'm sure some Los Angeles Ram fans enjoyed the St. Louis Rams losing in the beginning, not the diehards, but in the end let's hope we can close this chapter on our beloved Rams and return where IMO they belong!

I get what you're saying Den but to me it's like that ex that dumps you for another guy. You end up finding a new lady and even have better times than you ever did with the first girl. But then the new girl wants to move and wants you to move with her. Instead you stay where you're at and go back to the ex even though she also had moved away and won't move back.

WOW putting that way sure puts a different spin on it, however, like the song says: If you can't be with the one you love, love the one your with until she leaves then love the one you're not with! ;)

We're all here 'cause we're long suffering fans but i'm sure there are plenty of former fans who washed their hands of the Rams when they left L.A. and then Anaheim. They're just not posting on any Rams fan forums.

And we were never tempted with a new team in L.A. so though most of probably would've stayed Rams fans we don't really know for sure how that might have played out.

So i'm not gonna be too hard on any St. Louis fans who will hate on the Rams for leaving. They'll be soon forgotten as the Rams expand the brand with lots of new fans in Los Angeles who know nothing of our plight...

Very True and I saw that first hand when the Rams started winning there were fans who knew nothing about the history, but were fans because of the recent history. Always thought I would dislike those fans that is why for years I always asked every 49er fan who was their Head Coach before Bill Walsh just as a test, however, I did not dislike the new Ram fans I hugged and cheered with them as I will when the Rams win multiple Super Bowls in Los Angeles and the first team to win a Super Bowl in their home stadium!

BTW the answer was Pete McCulley followed by interim Head Coach Fred O'Connor.

IMHO, the ROD site is worse than the PD board. At least with the PD board, you know exactly what they are about.

You sure about that?
Seems more like you took your ball and went home and then PHX banned you.

Preciate it.
I like your model, and wish you much success with the mission statement.
Hopefully everything gets sorted out soon so we can all kinda just focus on the (insert city here) Rams once again.

Elvis wrote:Like most places ROD has it's good and bad qualities. They're huge with a lot of good people posting over there.

But the begging for money is distasteful and they over moderate for my taste. Not to mention it can be pretty arbitrary, you can say stuff to one poster that you can't say to X for example.

For a long time they wouldn't allow any talk of relocation. And then, not too long ago, you can talk about it but only in one thread. I actually took that as a sign the Rams are moving. They have some kind of relationship with Kevin Demoff over there and it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't talk about relocation because the Rams organization would prefer they didn't. But now they are talking about it. Speculation on my part for sure, but maybe Kevin gave them the go ahead because the Rams are, in fact, going to move...

I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but I don't own that board anymore, Elvis. Soid it over a year ago and it was sold again after that. So people can say whatever they want to me. I don't know that I say much of anything that incites anger anyway, because I mostly stay out of the relocation talk other than to post some relevant information from time to time. I just don't have any horse in that race being parked in the Carolinas.

Kevin hasn't given anyone any marching orders either. I speak to him via Twitter and via email and he's made no such demands. nor has he given me any indication of what they're going to do. That would be a HUGE blunder on his part, don't you think? And they consolidated all of the relocation talk at ROD to one thread because there was an overwhelming desire to talk about it, and the trade-off was to keep it in one place so as to not litter the front page with multiple threads all containing nothing but speculation and posturing. Seems fair enough. I don't really keep track of that thread either for the reasons cited above.

For me the best thing about ROD is Coach O's camp reports. And from RRF it's the Rev's Snapshots From Camp. If the Rams do move to L.A., it's gonna be up to fans like me and some of our members to pick up the slack.

Also, this is a place for L.A. partisans to talk about our hope for the Rams returning without stepping on any toes or offending St. Louis fans who are naturally pretty sensitive about the subject.

If you feel you or ROD are being misrepresented or maligned, by all means let us know, you're welcome here. We're a small and growing board. Maybe half of our members are banned at ROD so, as a group, we're probably not ROD's biggest fans.

But hopefully we can keep the inter-board squabbles to a minimum and concentrate on the Rams instead of ourselves.

If there's anything specific you want to talk about, feel free to PM me...
