Not to mention most of the owners will be dead in 10 or 20 years...

Stan didn't put the kibosh on anything that wasn't already in a jam. I think it's going to take another relocation for the good fans in StL to have a home team again. It's possible there is an international expansion that might get a team there too,, albeit remote.

It sucked not having a team here for 20 years but it almost sucked worse to have our home team playing elsewhere.
But like I always said, props to you guys for the great support they received while they were in your care. The fans didn't deserve how the city managers let them down.

The question is what happens in a few years when the 25 or 30 year leases at places like Cincinnati, Nashville, Tampa come due and those owners start demanding a $1 billion in public money so they can have stadiums similar to Inglewood and Atlanta?

The issue with St. Louis is that the billionaires we do have here aren't interested in pro sports. The Taylor family (Enterprise/Alamo/National Car Rental) don't care for much beyond a mild interest in hockey. "Our" rich local real estate guy decided this place sucks and blew town.

OUCH!

I doubt he thinks the place sucks about anything other than his vision for the Rams though.

When I lived in St. Louis I knew the family ... or I should say, they knew me by first name. Very classy and respectable people. Prolly a good thing that we never talked football.

They are minority owners of the Blues and the Scottrade Center will change names to the Enterprise Center later this year with the new arena naming deal: but that's it.

Best wishes to them. I still cross paths with the CEO's husband every now and then, he's very active in the wine world.
