The political leaders that failed all got voted out of office and that was the end of the careers.
-Former Mayor Slay got primaried out. He then tried to spin up a campaign to run for governor and got shut down quickly. Now he just bums around his neighborhood in a golf cart sadly hanging out at his brother's restaurant.
-St. Louis County executive Dooley lost handily in the next primary and I haven't heard his name since.
-IIRC they sacked most of the CVC board.
-MIssouri Governor Jay Nixon did get re elected: but state involvement with the Dome/new stadium proposal was limited by state constraints. All he could do was approve sales of state bonds to help with financing.

If the crux of this lawsuit is that St.Louis wants to recoup the money they spent in trying to keep the Rams and they wouldn’t have spent if they knew that Stan was actively looking to move to LA, then that is 100% bull. Are you seriously telling me that St. Louis would have only spent that money in an effort to keep the Rams if they were basically guaranteed not to move due to the NFL relocation guidelines? 100% bullcrap. The prospect of the Rams moving to LA would have caused St. Louis to spend more, not less, in an effort to keep the Rams.

I never said I want all the money back. Just the part where Stan/Demoff knew they was toying with us and asked for the National Rent a Car Stadium redesigns. I also want Stan to give up his claim to Rams Park for $1. Give it to a youth sports league and write it off for all I care.

I also missed the part in 1994 where Los Angeles delivered to Georgia a stadium site, stadium plan, naming rights and tons of public money to keep the Rams in LA but she threw it in the trash can and moved to St. Louis anyway.

One of my favorite parts of this is that I think the arrogance of Kroenke and the NFL led them to believe this lawsuit would be a minor annoyance easily dismissed. And now it seems to be becoming a major thorn in their side than they completely underestimated.

While I would still lean toward there eventually being a settlement, what if there isn't? What if the St Louis team isn't primarily interested in money and is more adamant about exposing the NFL and the owners and refuses to settle? What if they tell the owners to take their settlement offer and go fuck themselves, and take it all the way to trial just to expose everything.

Even if it does get reversed on appeals and St. Louis gets nothing, all of the bullshit the NFL pulls will be out there for all to see.

First design with light towers and no covered upper deck seats. That's on us.

Second design Stan and Demoff requested with no light towers and other upper deck changes. Stan should pay for that.

Supposedly Populous/HOK Sport was paid a couple million dollars to table all their other stadium/arena work and get the second design out in a month. IIRC someone said there was also rush work around the underground work to expand the parking garage Stan and Demoff asked for. Stuff like soil, finding utilities/pipes etc. Part of that included pushing the stadium up the hill and further away from the river.

There are receipts.

This is the one part that I will disagree with you on -- the perpetuating notion that Georgia moved the Rams because there was no way to get a new stadium in Southern California. Which is preposterous.

There was never going to be any public money for a new stadium for the Rams in SoCal, but that didn't mean that there wasn't private money for such a thing. Georgia never seriously considered any of the ideas tossed around. She wasn't interested. The concepts never had a chance to get off the ground. If you want details, just ask Leigh Steinberg. He knew.

The idea that Georgia was forced to move out of California to get a new stadium is ludicrous. It's ancient history at this point so nobody really remembers or cares anymore. It made a good story for St. Louisans to pass around, but it's just not true.

Sounds like St.Louis should sue HOK for ripping them off instead of the Rams and the NFL
