Paying for TV seems so absurd. I'm currently paying $72 for YouTube after decades with DTV but why? I really don't watch a lot of TV, except for sports.

Good chance DTV and Dish will switch to streaming in the not too distant future and instead of cable bundles, we'll have streaming bundles. It's changing fast and a lot of it isn't profitable so where lands, i guess we'll see...

DirectTV already has Directv Stream.

I am on the phone right now with them, I had my account hiatus hoping they would come back with a deal. They are offering me $30 off a month for 12 months, that would make my bill about $115. I am now canceling as I can get Hulu Live for$69.99. Very happy with it.

New subscriptions must be lower than anticipated, if they're offering incentives. The season hasn't even started.

If they offer Verizon wireless internet in your area they also seem to be offering some deals on YTTV plus Sunday Ticket.

Make sure you look at the model list in the article as most of the TVs are decent ones. No running to Costco and grabbing some cheapie TCL.

Well trying to watch Saturday's preseason game turned into an adventure for those not in the LA market.

First off the NFL Network completed screwed Ram fan(outside LA) by not showing the game as advertised at 6pm, showed the rest of the Eagles/Ravens (the whole second half), so not sure how much actually ended up getting shown.

Second Hulu Live went down for the night starting around game time. So even if the NFL network would have showed I was SOL.

So I ended forking over the $80 for the season of NFL+, I was going to do it anyway, but this forced my hand early. At least I have redzone throughout the season now beyond the other perks.

No issues with the speed, production, got the local LA broadcast. I was watching it live so it didnt let you rewind or FWRD, but you can rewatch and do that.

Same experience here re NFL Network, it became immediately clear that it was a bait-n-switch and we weren't going to see any live action until Eagles-Ravens ended.

I can't say I'm too bent out of shape over it. You're talking about two pretty big east coast markets in the late stages of a close, albeit, preseason game. As opposed to the tiny amount of Rams fans who were impacted and exactly zero Chargers fans.

It was also predictable when you looked at NFLN's schedule - Eagles-Ravens at 7pm, Chargers-Rams at 9pm? Unless you worked on St. Louis' riverfront football stadium proposal and thus don't know how math works, you could see it coming.
