The NFL might be driving that for publicity sake.

The whole blame lays with the political leaders of STL. If they had followed the contract, and maintained the dome as the contract required. The Rams would still be there. Fact is STL was even given a 10 year grace period in which to get the dome back to the level the contract required. STL political leaders were clearly told there would not be another break. They failed to hold up their end of the contract, The Rams then went through all the legal hurdles the contract required, and opted to leave. Nothing again the people of STL at all. But they need to pull their heads out of the sand, and stop following the lying being put forward by the politicians of STL, and STL. dispatch

Agreed 100% jackburginjr. The whole thing is a sham and hanging on local and apparently conflicted judges keeping the thing alive.
imo
Thinking about it, , I'm glad they did fail or we may never have gotten our team back home...

I don't think you're right about the 10 years: I thought it was 5? I thought from 1995 to 2005 there was a low level maintenance agreement. Then 2005 to 2010 it was a slightly tougher tier and then Rams couldn't truly start leaving until 2011?

Our head are out of the sand we know football is gone for good. We also forced the MLS owner to pay for 100% of the new soccer stadium with almost no public money outside of one bridge that needed replacing anyway. So we can learn from our errors.

All we want is bit of revenge for Stan reminding us of how miserable of a place this is to live. We'd also like to get back at Jerry Jones for laughing at us. What's wrong with that? Like I keep repeating: we have nothing to lose.

So those things Stan said in that infamous document, was any of it lies?

Yes and no.
-Some of what Stan said was true and we deserve the ridicule/the mirror held up to us. But it could have been worded more skillfully.
-Stan and Demoff cherry picked statistics. The main thing when talking about crime and population he focused solely on St. Louis City and not the metro area. I wouldn't call it a lie: but it puts the toe up against that line.
-When ridiculing St. Louis Rams fans they said St. Louis is not a 3 sports team town. But they conveniently left out that while attendance was declining it was while the Rams had the worst decade in NFL history. They also blamed the baseball Cardinals while not pointing out that team was consistently winning (with 4 World Series appearances and 2 World Series wins in recent history) while St. Louis Rams fans went 3+ years without seeing a single winm at home. I like how the document celebrates a 7-9 season as an accomplishment and the hiring of Jeff Fisher as a big gift to St. Louis.
-One again: the certain financial disaster and permanent damage to the league hyperbole could have been left out. It wouldn't have changed the Carson stadium situation.

I'll point out again my position is all I want from Stan is him to give up the Rams Park for $1 claim and to pay back some of the money from the Peacock effort. Specifically the part where Demoff said "good job" and asked for rush work to redo the lights, upper deck, stadium entry and parking garage from the first rendering. But if the court wants to hit him more I'm fine with that. Partly because of who Stan is, partly so other mid level markets don't get hosed. I want the NFL to pause and not be so quick to piss on other fanbases.

My comment about heads in the sand is with regards to not understanding who the majority of the blame falls on with regard to The Rams leaving. It is not Kroenke or the NFL. It is in fact on the leaders of STL. It also falls on St. Louis Dispatch due to their outright lies about the situation. Here is some info on the waiver that was given in 2005. It is online. I am correct also in that Georgia Frontiere clearly explaned to STL. That they had a 10 year window to correct The Dome, and get it back in the top 25 percent of the NFL facilities. I am a lifelong fan of The Rams. I grew up in LA. Left there in 1987. Lived in Colorado for a bit, then moved on due to military duty. It did not matter to me if they are in LA, STL, or any other city. The Rams have been, and always be my team . I know my teams history. STL had 10 years to get The Dome back in order. STL failed the fans there in STL, not Kroenke or the NFL.

The Rams and the St. Louis CVC began negotiating a deal to get the Rams’ home stadium, the Edward Jones Dome, into the top 25 percent of stadiums in the league (i.e., top eight of 32 NFL teams, in reference to luxury boxes, amenities and overall fan experience). Under the terms of the lease agreement, the St. Louis CVC was required to make modifications to the Edward Jones Dome in 2005. However, then-owner Georgia Frontiere waived this provision, in exchange for cash that served as a penalty for the city's noncompliance. The City of St. Louis, in subsequent years, did make changes to the scoreboard and increased the natural lighting by replacing panels with windows, although the overall feel remained dark. The minor renovations which totaled about $70 million did not bring the stadium within the specifications required under the lease agreement, thus keeping the Dome in a state of uncertainty. On February 1, 2013, a three-panel arbitrator selected to preside over the arbitration process found that the Edward Jones Dome was not in the top 25 percent of all NFL venues, as required under the terms of the lease agreement between the Rams and the CVC. The arbitrator further found that the estimated $700 million in proposed renovations by the Rams was not unreasonable, given the terms of the lease agreement. Finally, the City of St. Louis was ordered to pay the Rams’ attorney fees which totaled a reported $2 million.[citation needed]

Publicly, no interest was expressed by city, county and state officials in providing further funding to the Edward Jones Dome, in light of those entities (and taxpayers) continuing to owe approximately $300 million on the facility. A resolution was not reached by the end of the 2014 NFL season; therefore, with the City of St. Louis remaining in non-compliance with its obligations under the lease agreement, the Rams were free to nullify the lease and change to a year-to-year lease. Months later, the Rams scheduled a game to be played in London, violating the Edward Jones Dome's terms of lease.[citation needed]

Read this also. It explains more how STL failed to maintain the dome, and the 10 year grace period, and it was explained to STL that The Rams would in fact look at other options should STL fail to improve the dome. Mind you also that Georgia Frontiere was the majority owner , and would be the one who would have told STL this. So again this just supports Kroenke more. Also in regard to the "revenge" angle you mention. That has no standing in a court of law. If the judge goes for that. Then he has no business being a judge.

I never claimed revenge has standing in court or should be part of a judge’s decisions. I’m simply explaining why we are cheering the current course of events in this bad football town.

As much as you might think St. Louisans have their heads in the sand, we are smart enough to know who is at fault. That's why pretty much all of the politicians involved lost office. It's why we voted down public funding for the soccer stadium. It's also why the Post Dispatch, a once great paper is in the trash.

Not sure what else you want us to say or do.

All of this is correct and just proves our failures as a city. Congratulations to you.

Again:
-Stan shouldn't get Rams Park for $1. If he wanted that prize he should have kept the team here.
-Stan and Demoff shouldn't have asked for revisions to the National Rent A Car Stadium if they had every intention of going to LA. They could have asked for all that if the Raiders/Chargers at Carson was the NFL's choice.
