After year 1 i definitely thought we made a mistake by not picking Wentz. Even tho on draft night i was firmly in the Goff camp full of condidence.
The second year made me feel better but seeing Wentz do what he did sorta had me thinking the same way. That if i had to choose today i would take Wentz. I was hoping Goff would show more than he did last season. But i guess everyone has their own time and their own road. Starting from week 1 i have seen a more confident Goff. More in control or what he's doing. Not worried all the time that he's gonna make a mistake. Fischer almost ruined this kid. Fuck.

I wanna raise my hand and say i was totally wrong. And i couldn't be happier about it.

Carson Wentz in his career will never have a game like Jared Goff just had. Jared Goff is just more talented and has a higher ceiling.

yeah, very few will, in fact it prompted me to start a thread asking if anyone remembers warner during the gsot days ever having such a day, out of the many spectacular days he had... from memory i can think of some doozies, but i don't remember one like goff's night, in fact that narrative has gained a lot of traction in the last couple of days among sports outlets, when was it that a qb had as sensational a day as goff.

Here's Goff's numbers through 4 games, as well as recent Ram starters and a couple of highly touted contemporaries.

Goff 72.4% comp; 352 yds/G ; 10.49 yds/att ; 11 TD – 2 Int; 127.3 rating
Keenum 61.1% comp; 248 yds/G ; 6.88 yds/att; 3 TD - 5 Int ; 71.6 rating
Bradford 62.5% comp; 133 yds/G; 5.00 yds/att; 2 TD – 4 Int; 62.5 rating
Foles 65.9% comp; 226 yds/G; 5.50 yds/att; 1 TD – 1 Int; 78.9 rating
Prescott 61.4% comp; 166 yds/G; 5.66 yds/att; 2 TD – 2 Int; 74.9 rating
Wentz 67.6% comp; 255 yds/G; 6.89 yds/att; 1 TD – 1 Int; 84.9 rating

Goff 11 TDs…..the other five combined? 9 TDs

Another bit.

This one doesn't mention Goff throughout but it's obvious they're saying the Rams don't do any of this without a strong game from the qb.

Los Angeles was historically explosive in this game. The Rams became only the second offense since the 1970 merger to average better than 10 yards per play on at least 50 plays. They had 55 plays for 556 yards (10.1 yards per play). That hasn’t been done since Joe Namath’s Jets averaged 10.6 yards per play in a monumental shootout with Johnny Unitas and the Colts in 1972.

The Rams were so good at big plays that they piled up 556 yards and 38 points despite going 1-of-6 on third down. This is only the third time since 1991 where an offense had over 500 yards without having multiple third-down conversions, according to Pro Football Reference. In the second and third quarters, Goff had his six biggest completions (70, 56, 47, 36, 31, and 27 yards). There’s no need for third down when chunks are coming like that.

I have to believe the happiest people on this wonderful planet were Goff's parents when Fisher departed. It couldn't be easy watching your kid get pummeled on the field and in the media...especially, when you know your kid is damn good.

having a son goff's age i think of this often, in fact the bullshit started way before goff was subjected to regular season games in fisher's joke of an nfl offense... first it was hard knocks who tried to make jared out to be a moron, no help from fish setting the record straight, then it was fisher all but declaring goff not nfl ready, that keenum was the guy, while reports of goff's supposed play grasping and play calling ineptitude made the rounds... then, as a final insult, not only is fisher incapable of getting the talented kid ready to start the season, he doesn't even dress him for game 1, which took place in goff's back yard, with (no doubt) legions of relatives and friends in attendance, and of course goff's parents.... what a fuckin' nightmare...
