Nice spot Hacksaw. First time Vinny said that.

Also Peacock has flaked TWICE on the final draft.

Still checking off boxes perhaps?

Yeah, it seems again that the owners meetings seem to bring Inglewood up as the best deal. Everyone obviously knows it. They are just trying to figure out what to do with Spanos. All they can do is to keep the Carson narrative alive.

And how can Peecock submit a plan when local legislators are stalling the process and the Aldermen are looking to do the same. F'ing love it.

Still, I beginning to dislike that term "checking off boxes" as much as I already dislike the Chargers org. If this goes our way, never hearing the words Saint and Louis again in one sentence would be too soon...........

I paraphrase...

Fred: If there was a secret vote who do you think would win LA?
Vinny: Rams

Fred: If Carson was awarded to the Charaiders, would ESK stay in StL?
Vinny: I've heard he wants out of StL. SD. bay area, Toronto, London...

London, I don't think happens anytime soon for logistical/legal reasons.

Bay Area would hurt... San Diego would be interesting.

I've been saying Toronto for a long time, logical choice to become an international league, like MLB, NBA and NHL. Wouldn't shock me.

It looks like some of the issues have been worked out for a team in London. The logistical is being worked on right now with Virgin Air. The legal issues in particular the Bosman Ruling, was the major hurdle but it looks like they will exempt the team.

Looks like Peacock is timing his big announcement re the stadium naming rights to coincide with tomorrow's meetings.

http://www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/news ... onsor.html

National Car Rental Stadium. Sucky name.

And, doesn't $158 m (some $7m annually) seem very low? How much of that would even go to Stan/Rams v St. Louis?

So there is their cash infusion. Many of us had surmised it could be Enterprise who might save their day,,, and called that this type announcement would occur just before the meeting too.

These suckers are fighting hard to keep our team. I liked it better when they were $ short.

Stan? No, that would go to either the stadium (most likely) or the stadium authority, assuming Kroenke doesn't negotiate some sort of deal.

It's about middle of the pack, but is significantly less than half of what Kroenke would likely get in LA, and he could probably get more if he negotiated his own deal.. Honestly it looks for for PR reasons, but my guess is Kroenke wont be happy with that because he likes to control all the aspects. I don't know, but I'd imagine that most owners would rather negotiate their stadium naming rights deals.

Per their article, this is about $6m - $7m a year, less than Minnesota at $8m and way less than Dallas at $18m. A Los Angeles stadium will be closer to the Dallas amount.

But, looks like this surprised Peacock and explains his confidence lately. It's not because of the NFL, it's because of this. Three months ago coincides with some of his recent activities.

It's a fair deal for that market size. A mill here a mill there, whatever.

Hats off to Peacock, he's fighting hard. Checking off boxes and all.

His confidence to secure the naming rights and a bit more than expected.. still got the bond issues and legal entanglements before their plan is viable. Could happen though. Let's hope this doesn't sway any owners towards Carson. I wonder if ESK has a counter move? He had to know about this too.
