Tough loss I know but lets be honest down our two best CB's, Armstead going out. Offensive line not getting good blocks and WR's not getting separation, Brees looking off. This team wasn't going to win this I already chalked this up to a loss anyway

It’s not easy traveling to the west coast to play a road game. Especially against a good team coming off a loss and minus your two top cornerbacks.

They controlled the time of possession, and took the ball out of our offense hands (because of that).
Plus, I blame SP for not having Kamara in the game more. I understand Ingram is your guy, but Kamara was hot every time he touched the ball.

We just got beat. They exploited mismatches on Harris and Bell and the offense couldn't get the ball downfield against an excellent secondary.

Agreed. I assumed this would be a loss, especially after the Rams lost last week.

Yes we miss Lattimore..and yes Harris sucks..but we lost this game because our offense except for a few big plays was horrible today..especially on 3rd down...D was just spent in the 4th qtr..

We abandoned the run game in a game where the run game would have been our biggest weapon.

we are still a few players away on both sides of the ball to be legit. the injuries kill this team every year. without Lattimore, crawley, and okafor this defense is pedestrian at best. I mean Lattimore is up for DROY, talent like that missing turns this defense into garbage.

we missed on several passing plays. That use to be the bread and butter to our offense.

Payton lost the game by not playing Kamara more in 2nd half

On that play where Ingram couldn't run through an arm tackle on the goalline, Kamara got the team down there, then was taken out of the game. Kamara scores on that play by just being faster than Ingram.
Then, the two offensive series toward the end of the game where the Saints did nothing, Kamara was on the bench.
The keys of the game were leaving Harris in too long, and not leaving Kamara in enough

Ingram clearly didn't have the hot hand today. I'll never understand why we kept running him instead of going to Kamara

Once again coach Payton over thinks it. Your defense wasn't there so run the ball and get into Kamaras hands to rest that D and keep Goff off the field.

With the Rams playing almost exclusively man coverage, we witnessed what we thought about our receivers.
It didn't help that Drew was pretty bad today.

Foolishly stubborn of Payton to insist feeding Ingram or get too pass happy when it was clear that the Rams had an answer for both today.

I can now admit that Brees’ arm is done. He can’t make the throws downfield when we need him to.

The dude was pressured and rattled today. It happens. The Rams secondary is probably the best in the league as a total package.

I also think as far as WR’s go we are missing a real elite player.

No, this loss is squarely on Payton's decision to limit Kamara's touches. The Rams are grateful he did. 4 carries after breaking a 70+ yarder. The Sean on the other side would have kept feeding Kamara. Our coach went cutesy.

Our Receivers did not gain separation against their reserve cbs. That’s the story story of the game besides how poorly our corners played.

When you get your *** kicked on both lines like we did today...you normally lose badly...very badly.

The timeout before the half almost gave the Rams 3 points.
The fg in the 4th was simply ridiculous. Unforgivable, really.

This loss is about 97% on coaching. You face the 28th run defense, and come out on the first drive with 100% passes. Payton got too cute and outsmarted himself into something idiotic.

This is not hyperbole but the Rams were holding on nearly every single offensive snap they had. Some times I actually saw our players getting bear-hugged.

I don't know how Whitworth is as good as advertised.

The only way he kept Goff from getting sacked was by holding.

They missed SO many holding calls.

Payton getting too pass happy has always been his Achilles heel. When he saw Brees complete those 11 straight and blow right through Washington's defense at the end, I guess he got a little too cocky.

By not taking a timeout when the previous play ended, you gave the Rams a free shot at 3 points.

I saw a lot of negative things today. Hoping this was a one off.
Lack of imagination in play calls.
Weak throws downfield.
Sloppy play with penalties (Vacarro).
Solid positives.
Cam Jordan was superb.
Kamara is special.
I know the Ram defense is solid, especially front 7. But why not stick to what got you here. The run.

We lost at home to the damn good Rams team thats been blowing people out by 16, and could have won if the saints TDs weren't called back by penaltys.
