That sucks. I do expect one day that the NFL will eventually be off of cable TV. That if we want to see the games, especially local games, either you will have to go to them, or have to spend money to some service channel through the NFL, and we get all the games, including the local games, playoff games, including going up to the Super Bowl. That will be the eventual future.@JackPMiller all you need is a flux capacitor attached to your cable box, you won't even need to invest in a DeLorean. I stopped going to sports bars two years ago ... I pull the games straight off of Cable. (Aeneas1 might even be able to explain how to get the games for free by using foreign country proxy server) Over the course of the 17-week season I spend less money. I get to enjoy better quality food, higher quality beer, liquor, or wine ... and now I can even over-imbibe during the game.Don't have to worry about the manager of the bar not being able to find the channel until half-way through the 1st quarter ... don't have to worry about the flood of Bears fans that get the big screens and the Rams game being put on the small TV in the cornerhttps://nflsthelp.directv.com/hc/en-us/ ... POST #52 BobCarl liked this post As an L.A. Ram fan living in Eastern Pennsylvania, the only games I care about getting are Ram games. If I have to pay for them.....and I do with NFL Sunday Ticket.....so be it. Getting the other games is nice.....some great match ups throughout the year.....but I don't absolutely have to see them. What would really be nice is if they subdivided the Sunday Ticket package so you could pay for Rams games (or any team in particular which you are a fan). I would think it should be less expensive than an entire NFL Ticket package, which would be awesome. The NFL does broadcast games for free. What I'm hoping is that Directv loses the Ticket and somebody like Comcast or Amazon Prime picks it up. I can cancel DTV and expand my Comcast packages from internet and phone to include cable. I've been a Prime member for years now and the money I've saved in shipping costs has paid that yearly bill until the year 2050, so I would gladly subscribe if they got it. I will say this much, one nice thing about DTV is when I go to Florida for 6 or 7 weeks during football season, I use the DTV app to stream the Rams and any other game I want to watch on the "smart TV". The only thing is Tampa Bay, Miami and Jacksonville games are blacked out but who cares??!!!! Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there. Sounds like sports bars are frustrated with DirecTV as they’re wanting full price for Sunday Ticket even though they could be at 25%, 50% or some other limited capacity this season. Some are even cancelling as it just doesn’t make sense to pay AT&T full price. (The price of Sunday Ticket for a bar is based upon number of seats)Some bars in Chicago are actively grouping up and talking about cancelling unless AT&T adjusts to the current situation. by Elvis 4 years 10 months ago Total posts: 41520 Joined: Mar 28 2015 Los Angeles Administrator Re: The Future of the NFL on TV.... POST #55 They get so much from the networks I can’t believe they would want to change. They added nfl network and ESPN , then added yahoo and Amazon. Not having a free option would affect fantasy and gambling as well, there are a couple sports bars where I live that only have cable which seems crazy but what happens to those places, but on the other hand I would love to be able to watch my team from my couch without selling my soul to direct tv by PARAM 5 years 5 months ago Total posts: 13222 Joined: Jul 15 2015 Just far enough North of Philadelphia Hall of Fame The Future of the NFL on TV.... I don't. I like to watch it live. Their days as is are numbered since 5K is too large a signal to transmit in the air. The dishes are going to be toast. AT&T cable lines is their future where they have them.My worry is where do the take up the slack? Their everyday customer will then pay more ? GO RAMS !!! GO DODGERS !!! And IIRC the Directv contract doesn’t allow a bar to directly monetize by charging admission.
