Likely the one who least cooperates.

Are the Rams in danger of losing Janoris Jenkins and Trumaine Johnson?

By: Miguel Melendez | 18 minutes ago

Since the offseason got underway, Priority A has been for the Rams to keep their secondary intact. This, of course, includes cornerbacks Janoris Jenkins and Trumaine Johnson.

The duo no doubt made a considerable leap in 2015, proving to be a formidable nucleus as shutdown corners. They’ll soon hit the market as unrestricted free agents, and while the Rams have made several attempts at re-signing both they have nothing to show for it.

We are now learning, however, that the Rams reportedly improved their offer to Jenkins but have made no offer to Johnson. Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole has that report from Indianapolis.

The Los Angeles Rams are facing the possibility that they could lose both starting cornerbacks Trumaine Johnson and Janoris Jenkins this offseason. However, expect that at least one of them is going to receive the franchise tag. Which one is unsure at this point in time. Now, the Rams recently improved their offer on a five-year deal to Janoris Jenkins in hopes of getting him signed before the start of free agency. However, interestingly with Trumaine Johnson they have not made any offer at all to this point in time. There’s an expectation that at least one of those two players is going to get the franchise tag. The Rams are hoping to sign one of those to keep them with the team.

The Rams have to come to terms with their entire secondary, but locking down Jenkins and Johnson is paramount. Their return signals the Rams’ commitment to keep their elite defense intact. It sounds as if the Rams are first going after Jenkins and depending on how that plays out they’ll tag Johnson in an effort to keep both.

The way this thing is playing out expect some twists and turns along the way.

These ramswire guys are new. If they're depending on Jason Cole for their info, well they might not be that useful...

These kids want to play for the LA Rams, So the LA Rams and the FA players need to find that non-insulting price point that they can live with, then meet in the middle somewhere. I think the D, the system and the extracurricular revenue streams not to mention the babage,,

this is all posturing.

I'm noticing so much non-knowledge about our team now from the writers. It's new to them, it's our breath to us. Most of you could do a better job on this right now.

So, Confera, Cole, etc....I honestly can't figure out anyone who is accurate for us right now other than us.

Confera says tag will be used. No clue if he's a good source. Is he?

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Rams will be using their franchise tag, according to sources, on one of their corners. To this point, they have not indicated to Trumaine Johnson or Janoris Jenkins which one of them is getting the tag, and ideally they would sign one long-term and tag the other, but even with all of their cap space that might prove impossible.

eta: I see this matches the tweet from Hacksaw above.

And, I agree with the comment on whomever least cooperates. Would love to see us keep both.

It's impossible not to agree.

Jenkins is just dying to be THE man in LA. Hope our FO can get him for no extra bank. He's actually not as good as he is in his head.
