I'm just opining here, spitballing really.....in that McSnead and Company might've come off looking a tad cocky with their SBLVI win to some other NFL braintrusts, no?

I mean, back in the late 1960's George "TheFutureIsNow!" Allen was famous for trading his LA Ram Draft Picks for established NFL veteran players......so it's not like McSnead were inventing ICBM MIRVs or anything when they traded LA Ram Draft Treasure for stars like Ramsey, Stafford, Miller et al.

Is it possible that NFL braintrusts, filled with smart guys making 7-figures, that those guys could somehow be egotistical enough to tell Les Snead when he calls to enquire about a backup (say Eagle) OLineman, and Howie Roseman says to Les Snead,

Since the conventional wisdom is the Rams overpay on their trades, you'd think other teams would want in on some of that sweet action while they still can.

But i think the reality is, other teams are now willing to pay Rams like prices so it's a lot harder for the Rams to close deals then it was when they started with F dem picks...
