Thanks for all of the info, everyone!

For the Tampa game, I booked the Embassy Suites by LAX and it seems my best bet is to figure out the metro to the shuttle from what I am reading here.

And I’m going to the game with a St. Louis fan. :D

You can ride share to/from on Manchester. Avoid the designated ride share area. You and your driver will appreciate it!

Anyone brave the "other guys" forums and media posts about their first game? Curious on what their consensus is. They paid a lot less so probably expectations are lower. That and it was the 3rd game so they are getting things organized.

Maybe they should focus on getting the basics right (food quality and service) before adding more fancy stuff?

They just sent a tldr letter from Kevin Demoff that talked about how this Sunday is going to be so much better than what we’ve experienced.

It’s a lot of talk, so we’ll see the execution— but yes he mentioned the expanded food options in the letter. Presumably they’re ready. Btw, I’ve had their tater tots with their chicken strips (but not the tsunami tots) and they were the best thing at SOFI. Really crispy, I enjoyed them.

They also held a massive hiring event at SOFI recently, so maybe they’ve addressed the labor stuff.

I hope they figured out the labor stuff and hired people. I know Levy (who handles a ton of the NBA and NHL arenas) is having kittens. They've been blasting social media and radio for hiring for the arena here.

I didn’t eat but had drinks and never waiting in a line. See pic. I am in the 400/500 section.
Return shuttle to train was 3 mins shorter.
Suspect things will continue to get better and people will continue to be unhappy.
For a pre season game, that was a lot of fun last night.
Guess I'm really gonna have to look harder this week. Far as I can tell we have NOTHING like this bar around our section (301... home side goal line) There is one 2 sections towards the 50 from ours but us lowly peasants aren't allowed to partake. When I asked our rep if there was a bar/lounge available to us he said sadly..NO. As far as your statement I bolded... I'm glad your experience was good. That doesn't mean others was good.

I also never saw an 'empty' bar like the depicted. However, I didn't find SOFI all that hard to navigate. There's just a couple of areas near the VIP sections (both sides) that are closed off. Mostly around the 50 yard 100/200/300s sections. If you head up (or down) the escalators at either goal line there are two 'levels' that have large concessions area. Those all seem accessible to everyone.

Also, I'm thinking about opening a SOFI account (its a phone app/banking thing). That will allow access to the 'SOFI' lounge which also has a bar. I kind of hope they get rid of it, since the way they set up the SOFI lounge actually cuts off walking access to a corner of SOFI (sort of across the way from "The Equipment Room" -- the main memorabilia store at SOFI.)

They really did not put anything attractive on the north side of the 300 level. Check out the concourse maps: https://static.clubs.nfl.com/image/upload/v1629329671/chargers/o71qaj21zjfzbpnwpxqd.pdf
