Would you sign Colin Kaepernick?

Yes, if the coaching staff believed him to be the best available option to back-up Jared Goff.

Yes. It would make an important statement, even if his skill level is questionable at this point.

No. Even if he is arguably the best option, the attention/distraction he'd bring to the team would override the benefit.

No. Even if he is arguably the best option, I don't like him or his approach, and would not want him on my team.

No. I don't care about his politics or persona. I simply don't believe a QB who has been idle for years could succeed.

Sam may have been a contingency. Who knows for sure?
The 2 dude cheerleaders are pretty good dancers. I'd rather watch the skirts of course, and Im very not sure the Nitschke men of the 60' would approve, but there are twice the number of people in the US / world since the 60's so you should expect a more diverse crowd.
I wish for my teams success and public perception (especially freshly relocated) is important. Mo fans, no betta..

PS
the uni thing is a blasphemy..
I'm all for progress and am proud of the Rams and Dodgers in that regard. But the difference is, Kenny Washington and Jackie Robinson were good players that earned their place in addition to breaking down racial barriers.

I don't see Michael Sam or the male cheerleaders as the same situations.

Scouts Inc. had a 6th round grade on Sam. We took him in the 7th, nothing shameful about that.

The Rams have added a lot of Hispanic themed stuff since moving back to L.A. Is that a stunt?
No, I'm saying that very few were asking for male cheerleaders and that people just aren't that interested in having them. I don't think male cheerleaders have been denied work because of their gender, the majority of fans just aren't interested.

As far as Sam, he never played another professional game after leaving the Rams. So no, I don't think he was drafted based on merit. IMO, the Rams were much more interested in being able to say they drafted the first openly gay player than they thought he was actually worth drafting.

I don't know what you specifically mean about Hispanic themed stuff. But yes, if they are creating different merchandise for a particular race, isn't that the definition of racist? Is there some reason that Hispanics wouldn't wear the merchandise that's for, presumably, everyone else? Are the Rams doing special "for blacks" merchandise?

Stuff like that is the exact opposite of progressive.

To be honest, as a fan who watches the Rams almost exclusively on TV, I really have almost no interest in the cheerleaders at all, even the very attractive females. Some of you say that the male cheerleaders can dance. Male cheerleaders when I was in college were more into the acrobatics side of cheerleading. I don't suppose that's a thing in the NFL. But I wouldn't know, because the cameras don't show more than a couple seconds of cheerleaders per game.

As for Michael Sam, if the first openly gay to be drafted was a long-shot, then I don't have a problem with it. Did the rest of the Rams' players have a problem with him being drafted? It didn't seem like it at the time. Sam was a well-respected college player, at least.

I'm sure in 1947, a lot of baseball fans thought the Jackie Robinson thing was a stunt. While talented, he wasn't chosen by Branch Rickey purely on the basis of his baseball talent. He was chosen because of his psychological make-up, and his potential for being able to withstand the negative publicity. Yet in retrospect, we only look at Jackie as a great player.

7th round pics washout all the time, again, nothing shameful in that. If anything Sam went a little later than projected because he was gay and teams didn't want to deal with the attention and distraction that would bring, not unlike Kap or even Tim Tebow.

So you're a no the Rams Mariachi Band?

Michael Sam:
Sam was named a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, Associated Press, Sporting News, the American Football Coaches Association, and the Football Writers Association of America. He was also named a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award, the Hendricks Award, and the Lombardi Award.

Drafting someone with that resume in the 7th round does not seem like a big stretch to me. The fact that he didn't pan out does not prove that he was selected for non-football reasons. Lots of 7th round picks don't make it.

The more I think about this, the more I think you're just reaching for reasons to be upset. Cheerleaders and Michael Sam? What do those have to do with the Rams, really? The 2020 Los Angeles Rams. Nothing.

I think you're just pissed about the uniforms, and so now anything goes. Come on, man.

If you vote for Donald Trump, you are a racist. You have no wiggle room.
Jemele Hill is the director of the upcoming Colin Kaepernick production by ESPN/Disney.

Her mother voted for Trump.
