good friggin' grief, what utter nonsense... if a wr stops, falls down or is slowed by a grabbing db it can often lead to a pick... "throwing him into coverage", mama mia. :roll2:

What's amusing is on the subject of Goff, some responses are completely predictable, no matter how much the evidence is examined. Some will see what they want to see and it would seem, even if they don't, they'll convince themselves they did. At that point it's no longer a reasonable discussion but rather a campaign to discredit the facts.

Reminds me of DC PA.

McVay:

“We’re going to monitor that as the week progresses,” McVay said Wednesday of Havenstein’s role. “It’s something we feel good about. If he is able to go, we’re getting another really good football player back. In terms of what capacity, we have not made that decision.”

QUESTIONS:
If Aaron LawnChairCollector Kromer is REALLY the second coming of Knute Rockne as an NFL OLine Coach....THEN,

how come Kromer first served up Jamil PaulBlart,MallCopOnSkates Demby as the initial replacement for the injured Noteboom, when all of us fans were pretty unanimous that David Edwards looked the best of the Rams OLine Yute rookie litter during PreSeason huh??!! :roll2:

how come Kromer sells McVay the BS Koolaid that neither greenhorns
Joe TCUTackle,NowPlayingNFLGuard Noteboom
nor Brian AClinicalDwarf,NowPlayingNFLCenter Allen
were required to hone their skills during the 2019 PreSeason Games??!! :oops2: Y'know....against somewhat real NFL competition!!! :x

ME: Let's see how Kromer's Kindergarten charges do against a desperate Dallas D this Sunday before we get out the anointing oils for Evans, Edwards and Corbett okay??!! Some guys here are already talking about jettisoning Havenstein for...
Bobby LookedLikeShyteInPreSeason! Evans!! :roll2:

That's really simple and in fact, obvious. This team tends to be slow about playing rookies. The exceptions (Kupp and Rapp) were unusually pro-ready players. Johnson, for example, did not start in 2017 until game 5, even though it was clear the minute he started that he was superior to Alexander. Demby just had more time in the system so until the rookies had a little more seasoning and coaching, then they were going to wait.

Meanwhile, you probably cannot name any other OL which started 3 completely inexperienced injury replacements and did well. Any coach that pulls that off deserves respect. In fact Kromer does have respect--it has been known for years around the league that he is a top OL coach. That's no secret. So far though of all of the top OL coaches we can name, he is the only one (near as I can remember) to pull of this feat---ie. fielding an OL that looks good in some games so far, with 3 injury replacements, including 2 rookies and 1 inexperienced 2nd year guy who had only been with the team for a month.

But all that reasonable stuff aside, quips are fun and puns a fun game and all that, so why so serious.... 8-)

I will be bet a milkshake no matter,

this weeks line is the same as last weeks.

Don't try to marginalize me as some fooking "quipster" okay zn! :x

As a Sergeant-Major, with multiple war wounds, once told me on the Parade Square at RMC in 1972, when I thought I had outsmarted him.....
"I am too old a cat to be fooked by a kitten!"

FACT: The reason my team of 50+ seasons may miss the NFL Playoffs this year is because Aaron BSArtist Krommer overestimated the talents of Noteboom and Allen...…….and then served up a mook like Demby as the #1 replacement. Period. Full Stop! :idea2: :arrow2: :!2:

We are not going to miss the playoffs because Zuerlein missed a FG in Seattle. If we DO miss the 2019 NFL Playoffs ….
We are going to miss the Playoffs because Aaron Kromer was a BAD JUDGE OF NFL CALIBER BLOCKING PROWESS!!!! :idea2: :arrow2: :x
DUH!!! :!2:

You can rag on all you want about "oh, the Rams do not employ rookies as starters.....unless they are Taylor Rapp :roll2: .....and the rest of your "oh, the Rams OTs regressed this year, that's our 2019 OLine issue!" nonsense all you like!! :P

Fact: Our OLine sucked.
Put us into a real bad LOSSES hole that we are now trying desperately to dig ourselves out of....
….and the Rams Assistant Coach responsible for OLine efficiency is who!!?? :?2:

Aaron BSKoolAidSalesman Kromer, that's who!!! :idea2: :arrow2: :x

You keep defending him though, zn. :roll2:
Every guy needs a hobby! :P

Canuck, as for Noteboom, I believe he is easily a better LT than LG. He's athletic, but not powerful enough to play inside as well. We just had to play him there because of Whitworth. I think he was out of his best position.
As for Havenstein, I'm wondering if he gained too much weight. He doesn't look as quick this year. Next year, I'd like to see if he could become a mauler type OG. He just isn't the best in space.
Going into next season, it looks like we will have 4 guys who can start at OT; Noteboom, Evans, Edwards and Havenstein. We now have two competent centers, with Blythe being the better of the two. And, it appears we have plenty of depth at OG. I'd be fine with drafting an Oline stud early, but this is a VERY young group, and obviously willing to learn and improve.

Talk about predictable. Nowhere did I blame or fault Goff for that throw. But to say that he threw Woods open is just not true and IMO, an attempt to rationalize Goff's mistake/miscommunication.

If Woods had continued to where the pass was thrown and we know that the DB actually caught the pass instead, it stands to reason that Woods, the ball and the DB all would have been intersecting. Which is NOT throwing Woods open. Had Woods continued and Goff thrown the pass differently then maybe he would have been throwing him open but at that point we have to acknowledge that it was a bad pass. So, it was either a bad pass or he did not throw him open.

The all-22 shows that Woods made the right read regardless of what Collinsworth said on the broadcast. There were no defenders on the inside and Woods slowed to either sit down or pivot back and had the ball been thrown right to him or even to his back shoulder, it would have had a higher chance for success. Clearly, trying to lead Woods was not what Woods thought and exactly why the DB intercepted the ball. I suppose it's arguable whether or not it was a bad play by Goff but to actually try and paint like he was actually doing something good...it's predictable.

I may be bias but I'd say my view of this play is far more objective than those who are trying to not only say it wasn't a bad play, but actually a good one by Goff are just as bias.
