But I have to say that at this point, it sure looks like 2024 is on a whole new level of good. And they were pretty good from 21-23, so 24 being even better would be (and I am predicting is) quite an achievement.

Senior Bowl director, Jim Nagy on Senior Bowl players in this this year’s Rams draft class
Jim Nagy@JimNagy_SB
Here’s what #RamsHouse fans can expect from@seniorbowlrookie class:

DT Braden Fiske (Round 2, Pick 39)- Top P5 riser in entire ’24 class. Disruptive penetrator with best get-off quicks & snap anticipation in DL class. High-end athlete with enough position flex to start right away. Force multiplier will raise competitive bar for rest of roster.

DS Kam Kinchens (Round 3, Pick 99)- Young early-out junior with playmaking ability in deep part of field. Ball skills are top asset (11 INT past two years). Good functional range belies suspect 40 time. Miami staff raved about toughness & overall makeup. Should seriously push for starting role as rookie.

OLB Brennan Jackson (Round 5, Pick 154)- Fun-to-watch high motor player adds rotational pass rush help & immediate core ST value. Ideal frame & fit for 3-4 OLB. Wish he didn’t get hurt in Mobile because he would’ve opened some eyes. Like Fiske, this dude never stops!

DT Tyler Davis (Round 6, Pick 196)- Good value pick as NFL-ready backup 3-tech behind Kobie Turner. Quick & strong-handed run-downs plugger. Plays bigger than measurables suggest. 5-year starter & team captain at Clemson fits Rams character profile.

PK Joshua Karty (Round 6, Pick 208)- Big-legged kicker that many specialist gurus we consult with thought was one of best PK prospects in past 5-10 years. Thought he might go 4th/5th round. Has leg talent & mental wiring to be long-term answer.

C/G Beaux Limmer (Round 6, Pick 217)- One of best value picks of draft. Inside swing depth upgrade should be fourth IOL behind Avila, Jackson, & Dotson. Mature, no nonsense dude with 41 college starts. Strong Senior Bowl week & elite Combine numbers (36.5 VJ, 39 bench reps). Head-scratcher he lasted til 6th.

FWIW PFF gave our draft a B+. It sounds like they only dinged us on the overpay and risk on Fiske hitting. They sure are fans of Corum from the sound of it!

Fiske is GONNA hit, and we will scoff at the Draft compensation and the talking heads will once again look foolish.

Few teams have done more with less over the past few years than the Rams in the NFL draft. This time around, Les Snead and Co. crushed the event by utilizing a full complement of picks to upgrade a roster that was already playoff-quality.

The team’s selections of defensive linemen Jared Verse and Braden Fiske are part of a committee approach designed to replace the production of recently retired three-time Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald. Brennan Jackson and Tyler Davis join the Florida State duo to fortify a young, athletic line with disruptive potential. Though nobody can replace No. 99’s disruption individually, those rookies will team with Kobie Turner and Byron Young to wreak havoc on foes at the line of scrimmage. With Kamren Kinchens poised to play a big role as a rookie center fielder, the Rams have assembled a young core of defensive talent with the potential to eventually rank among the elite units.

Offensively, the addition of Blake Corum gives Sean McVay a downhill runner perfectly suited for the Rams’ gap running scheme. Joining Kyren Williams, the Michigan standout adds more physicality to a backfield that could pummel opponents into submission.

Given the talent and depth of the Rams’ draft haul, Snead and McVay deserve high marks for their preparation, process and performance over draft weekend.

There is certainly a type of player that fits the McVay-Snead era and I like it!

I bet McVay-Snead wouldn't have drafted Lawrence Phillips.

No freaking way, especially not with a top pick. He wasnt the only troubled running back they drafted, i.e Zac Stacy , Tre Mason ugh...

I think McVay-Snead have really honed there style together. I wonder how much was Fisher or Snead in the drafts when they were together. I would love to understand what went wrong with drafting Jason Smith and Greg Robinson.

Nailed it!

They seem to find players that put in the work and have the mental capacity to want more. Mostly based on the on field production.

The days of the underware Olympics outweighing proven talent and hard work are becoming less of the norm.
