Other side. Not in most of the flight paths.

But the upside is there's a DC Metro stop at the RFK Stadium site. That means visiting as an opposing fan should be a lot easier than the auto-centric current suburban stadium that requires a 30 minute walk.

SOFI was built in the direct (landing) flight path for LAX. (Though LAX is large enough they have an alternative landing flight path west, landing from the Ocean into LA.)

Therefore, they sunk it into the ground. Crazy how many planes fly over SOFI every day-- but I guess the sound isolation really makes it a non-issue.

Planes are also a lot quieter.

Anyone over 45 or 50 will remember what it was like watching/listening baseball games against the NY Mets at the old Shea Stadium. Broadcasters would have to stop talking and pitchers frequently had to step off the mound if the flight path that day took it over the stadium.
