There is something to be said about the classic “iconic” looks of teams that have really not modified their uniforms in a major way.

The Packers, Steelers, Raiders, Chiefs , and even the Cardinals come to mind. I put the Ferragamos in that category. The royal blue and canary yellow are iconic and stand out. Could the road white be modified a bit? Sure, but our Ferragamo home unis that we currently wear should NOT be messed with.

Agreed. That is one solid uniform.

Speaking as a heterosexual male...if I ever switched teams...well, this pic would do it...

Too late now, but I still think it would have been funny to do these and brand the entire stadium red just to mess with the Chargers:

Return to the LA area, new world class stadium, bunch of OLD fans, the attempt to capture a new fan base......I get what the ownership needs to make this go well.

As long as it’s in the color wheel of the yellow and blue with horns, I have a feeling most who REALLY don’t want the change will get on board.

Dead Georgia screwed this up. Stan and Kevin have earned my confidence and I am confident they won’t let us down with something hideous. They get it. Keep us OLD fans happy while attracting the new.

I for one am extremely excited to watch our LA RAMS come running out of the tunnel for the first time in our epic new stadium and well thought out and vetted new uniforms.

GO RAMS!!!

Great post.
My only concern is the qualifications of those doing the vetting. The fact that Demoff is an old time LA Rams fan helps my relax a lot. He is sort of in that 'OLD' fan category. But random focus groups and Nike data doesn't make me warm and fuzzy about the eventual result at all.
Blue and gold is a given but GF's hideous combination was also blue and gold.
I'll say it again, the Rams Ferragamo's is one of the greatest uniforms there ever was. Nostalgic, traditional, iconic. Except for the Nike mutation of the shoulder horn, it's all Rams.
I'm down with a design change, especially at the shoulder, but the colors should remain the same despite the helmet mismatch imo...
Speaking of helmets, PLEASE don't forget to WIDEN the horns, especially in the front.

Either way, it will be an improvement and I'm still tickled pink they're back home.

Blue and Gold is different than Blue and Yellow in the color wheel. (M-wife watches HGTV alot) Year two back home in LA the Rams started mutating the gold into yellow as to not violate any rules. That alone thrilled me.

I share in everyones concerns. I can't deny that some recent uniform changes have been "interesting".

The most damning will always be the Rams going from the leagues most popular to the blueberries. I still have some PTSD from that change so maybe just knowing there is a 99% chance that it is completely gone feels good to me.

Just because, I doubt any NFL team could ever come up with anything as epic as the Ferragamo's. I believe the Rams absolutely know this. I hear nothing that remotely is as loud as our love for these uniforms. Therefore twice a year they will still wear them. And we will be 12 years old again.

GO EAMS!!!

fwiw the "yellow" used by nfl teams, including the rams, packers, chiefs, vikings, etc., has historically been referred to as gold not yellow, which most likely started back in the day due to the packers calling their color scheme "green & gold".

here's a look at the binder that nflp (nfl properties) sent to licensed merchandisers in the early 70s so that the merchandisers would be sure to get team colors and logos right:

meh, i'd rather see white pants... also, rather than screw around with sleeve stripes or fingernail horns, it might look cool if they just made the sleeve number much larger, as big as they could given the space to work with...

Thanks for the clarification A1.

Due to this conversation I think some of us are calling it yellow because of what happened with the blueberries with gold being gold it can get confusing of what one may be saying. Kind of like how we now refer the blue as royal in these conversations. Boy could Georgia take a good thing and screw it up. :roll2:

I myself have always liked calling our uniforms the blue and gold. I am thinking we can get back to that next year. 8-)
