The country has NFL mania right now, it is back to getting bigger and bigger every year after taking a pause during concussion concerns in the mid-2010s.

I believe there are many people who would have signed up for this, at this price point, if it had been available without being forced to buy a dish. I certainly would have done it, and lucked out at having a college age kid to get it cheap.

Ok lets see how it plays out. I will bet that they have less subs in the first years than DTV had last year. I have seen quite a bit of people on Twitter not interested due to the price, not everyone wants/likes YouTubeTV.

YouTube TV is not required for Sunday ticket. It does, however, result in a $100 discount.

In April it's easy to sit here and say bleaugh! That's too much money! I ain't doin' that!!

Meanwhile, YouTube and Commissioner Goodell are winking back at you and saying .. OK .. see you in September

.. also .. double wink .. don't forget about June 6!

It's too much money for an inferior product.

It's one thing to say, sure, I'll pay more for a superior technology. But it's more money for something with fewer, clunkier features.

Maybe by September or October I'll change my mind, but right now I'm a no.

With apologies to Norm MacDonald.. "Note to self - create RFU poll in early September, 'Did you get Sunday Ticket and when?' Options: No, Yes - Pre June 6, Yes - Post June 6."

That's exactly what I do.

I don’t know how you arrived at the belief that the product is inferior and clunkier given no one has seen the product and won’t until September.

Also, it’s not more money. DIRECTV charged mid 300s for the Ticket and RZ channel.

AGREE!!!!

HOW CAN IT BE INFERIOR? You con't need a god damn DISH.

That Alone already make sit extremely SUPERIOR. \

Also, from what I have read so far you can stream more than one game at a time. So, again SUPERIOR to DTV.

For me, DVR is important. With DirecTV DVR, I can fast forward while still being able to see what's on the screen, so I can fast forward over commercials or touchdown celebrations by opponents of the Rams and their fans. If I'm watching a non-Rams game, I can fast forward over game action and still get the gist of things.

I have yet to see a reasonable way to do that with a streaming service. Some services offer a cloud DVR feature, but it's clunky and featureless, and when you fast forward you can't see what's on the screen, so you can't tell when to stop.

I understand YoutubeTV subscription offers a cloud DVR feature, but I'm not holding my breath that it would be worth much. I mean, I agree that the cloud DVR is better than nothing. At least it allow you to start watching a game in progress. But I hate commercials and timeouts and half-times.

Maybe in the future the streaming DVR features will improve. I can't see any reason why they couldn't technologically. But that's no guarantee that they will. After all, the NFL and broadcasters love commercials.
