This OL situation is certainly the worst case. Even so, when Rob Havenstein is by far the best player on your OL that speaks volumes for the quality of your starters. He's a decent RT, who's had trouble with speed rushers, and who could never play LT.

They will have to somehow pull another Whitworth level acquisition out of their hat if we are to see dramatic improvement next year.

PARAM wrote:"Our starting line" started 1 game together. Against a very good defense. Then our 2nd line played 2 snaps together. In week 3 our starting left guard went out. In week 4 our second center/starting right guard went out. Then in week 5, our starting LG returned and went out again and then it got really bad. :o

I don't know how we can evaluate our "starting O line" with the way things unfolded. Correction, we can evaluate their play vs. Buffalo. As far as getting the line to above average talent, where do they start?

Will they keep Noteboom? Allen? Edwards is a UFA. Will they resign him? Do they want to? Jackson has blood clot issues. Is his career in jeopardy? Will Anchrum be back and finally get a shot? Is Bruss worthy of starting? Thank god for Havenstein, who fans have been trying to trade for years now! And Shelton has valuable versatility. I feel safe in saying they may sign a FA or two and/or draft another OL and I'm sure nobody really knows who from our current roster will be back (except Hav) and who will be gone. Who will start and who will backup. Nothing in any of those areas would shock me.

There are probably 7 guys worth keeping including developmental/don’t know what they have and really only 2 average/slightly better than, starters:
Havs, Shelton, Anchrum, Bruss, Brewer. Arcuri, Allen.

The rest are either JAGs or have injury issues, or just aren’t good enough really even as back ups. Perhaps you could add A Jax but blood clots could be pointing to something very serious health wise. And he is better suited as a swing tackle.

There will be a lot of turnover on OL me thinks. And there needs to be. Hope the Rams have/can create the resources.

I would think they're gonna try to sign a FA (or 2) but if they don't spend money (I don't know how much they'll have), it might not be a top flight lineman. So why get an older JAG? With all the other issues......dire need for a RB, TE, WR, Edge.......it's not difficult to imagine they don't add as much as fans are expecting. They might just chalk it up to injuries....and they wouldn't be totally wrong IMO.

I agree - If they don’t have the resources or can’t find the fits - they will work with the 7-9 guys they know. They do have those other needs. Getting much better performance outta the OL is paramount though. No matter how they do it.

We will see how close they can come to addressing and upgrading all the need areas. That is one tall task. They should once again have almost 10 picks in the upcoming draft. And have the ability to restructure some deals to creat cash for some FAs. They just have to hit on virtually every decision and move they make if they want to get back to relevant contenders in 2023. If/when this season is totally lost, I do hope they get the young guns as much experience as they can. They need to see what they have lurking.

No Edwards or Allen vs the Saints.

This is unfuckin real.

Nsekhe - ? - Shelton/? - Shelton/? - Shelton/? - Havs.

This is just laughable at this point. Can’t see how we can win any games with this Continuing OL shitshow. ZERO continuity.

Where did you hear that news 34?

Looks like we're not the only ones. AD could feast.

And considering the Rams are such a MASH unit, why are our injury reports always alway shorter than our opponents?

The L.A. Rams have had a ton of issues with their offensive line this season, but Sean McVay is hoping to have four of his five starters—minus the starting and backup options at left tackle—this week against the New Orleans Saints. Dennis Allen’s Saints are going in the opposite direction.

The Saints did not have starting center Erik McCoy or left guard Andrus Peat for their Week 10 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers and after placing McCoy on IR this week, Allen doesn’t sound confident that he will have his guard or left tackle ready for Week 11 against the Rams. Left tackle James Hurst left the Steelers game with a concussion and could also be ruled out.

What is Stafford thinking coming in with these 4th and 5th string guys? He may end his career this weekend! Can we just forfeit and go a game with someone not being hurt? I think that would be better.

Hack, MCV said it in his presser today.
Edwards not o injury report as he is still in the IR 21 day window. Hasn’t been activated. Can’t be on the reports unless you are on the active roster.

And Hack, that’s another reason our report is short. All the other injured guys are on some form of IR.

Just signed to the active roster Zachary Taylor, 6th rd rookie who will likely dress as a back up at all position except center. That’s just crazy. We have 6 healthy OL, 6 on IR and injured Brian Allen. Unbelievable. Both Guards will be “new” for the Saints game unless Shelton doesn’t play center. Possibly Skura is ready for OC but probably playing OG. So…..

Nsekhe - Skura - Shelton - Oday - Havs
Now that we are without Kupp, I’m thinking MCV plays more 12 personnel with Higs and Hopkins. Possibly some 21 with one of the RBs, likely Williams, getting reps in the slot.

Just my guess.
