Stay out of UFA pool, and work on trades and released players.
Makes sense as teams will lose their UFA every year, why not leave yourself in a position to be rewarded for it.
Again, if/when this works, then watch other teams follow the blueprint

It's hard to get excited about. You only get 3rds (basically a 4th at the end of the 3rd) as comp picks when you lose really good players and don't pick up any. Stay out of FA just so you can (at best) potentially get a 4th (or worse a 5th or 6th or 7th) round pick. It's just hard to get excited about. If teams had a history of abundant success with those picks that would be another story.

Isn't this "blueprint" kinda what the Eagles did last year? Which we are also following?

Not really. The Eagles signed a bunch of FA last year and because of that were awarded zero Comp picks in this years draft. What the Rams just pulled off is adding 3 Pro-bowlers to the team and are STILL projected to receive TWO 3rd rd Comp picks next year. That is masterful on Snead's part.

I meant what they did via the trade. As in relying on trades more than whats considered normal around the league. At least that's what I've heard. Honestly I didn't pay that much attention to them.

Just came back to civilization form the islands.

Scuttlebutt was that you were doing some advance scouting as to which island RFU will be sponsoring the "all expenses paid vacation for all RFU members". Really, nice of @Elvis and all the mods to pay for everyone. So which island(s) were you at? Favorite?

Of course, we'll expect 5 star accommodations and a shot at a guest walk-on appearance of the next episode of "Hawaii 5-0".

5-0,, I'll see if I can "Book 'em Dano".

As a mod I was using the RFU credit card. Bummer no one accepted it. ;)

As far as the destinations for our members, I was looking at sites on Kauai in either the Hanalei or Poi'pu / Koloa regions. Really a beautiful place. Out there you can get away from it all..

Then on Oah'u, I found a possible retreat in Mokuleia / Waialua on the north shore. Way off the beaten path but close to epic waves.

On Maui, I found Hana especially remote. A good place for some of our more nefarious posters to hide out. Plenty of land near Paia, Haiku though and much easier to access than that "road".
Either that or Makena. I did put in an offer for an oceanfront condo on Napili Bay though.
I'll keep you posted.
